VINCENT’S STAR, GOOD MAN and BLAZING KID all are course scratching. VINCENT’S STAR had sustained sole bruised near fore. GOOD MAN had sustained bruised off hip and BLAZING KID had sustained sole bruised off fore. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again
BEAT THE LIGHT (SU Lim) jumped awkwardly.
The saddle on BALIN (S Ruzaini) slipped backwards during the running.

RACE 2 (R0407) CLASS 5 (A) – 1600m (lc) GUA TEMPURUNG HANDICAP
D’GREAT MAGIC and SIR ELTON both are course scratching. D’GREAT MAGIC had sustained a float injury whilst SIR ELTON had sustained sole bruised off fore. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
EKRAAR PHOENIX (S Ruzaini) was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was passed fit to start.
EL MACHO (App R Nuqman) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride.
ROCK N ROLL (App A Nazir) jumped awkwardly inwards.
At the top of the straight, MASTER JIANGMEN (App N Shahronnizam) had a tendency to lay in and shortly thereafter, EKRAAR PHOENIX shifted out over the heels of MASTER JIANGMEN to obtain a clear run. Trainer K Coetzee, the trainer of EKRAAR PHOENIX, placed 2nd lodged an objection regarding this incident as well as alleged crowding in the later stages against MASTER JIANGMEN (App N Shahronnizam), being declared the winner on grounds of alleged interference at the straight. After consideration, the Panel of Stewards overruled the objection and confirmed the results as declared by the Judges.
In the pull-up area, DISCRETELY RED threw its head up, striking App P Haris on his face and dislodged. He was exempted from weighing-in and was sent to hospital for observations. App P Haris was stood down for the remainder of the day.
Jockey SU Lim and App R Nuqman, the riders of CHER and EL MACHO respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of CHER and EL MACHO revealed no obvious abnormality.
Trainer T Asogan was questioned with regards to the improved performance of MASTER JIANGMEN today. He was unable to offer any explanations and his attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding ‘in-and-out’ running.

SOON YOU THINK, a course scratching as it had sustained bruised near fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
MIEJ (AK Lim) was slow to begin. Taking into consideration the previous history of MIEJ, the gelding will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.
BLACK TAIPAN (App H Haikal) was obliged to race wide on the turn. The whip of App H Haikal broke during the running.
D’GREAT SWIFT (S Ruzaini) was hanging out in the straight.

RACE 4 (R0409) CLASS 4 (A) – 1600m (lc) IPOH WAR MEMORIAL HANDICAP
AMORE AMORE (App SN Shiva) and RULE THE WORLD (App A Nazir) were both slow into stride.
KING RAVANA (SU Lim) was hanging out in the straight and upon straightening, inconvenienced NORTHERN STAR (HK Cheng) which had to steady off its heels.
ARION SUCCESS (S Salee) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
App R Nuqman, the rider of SUSPICIOUS MIND was dislodged on pulling-up and he was exempted from weighing-in. He was stood down by the Club Medical Officer for the remainder of the day.
A post-race veterinary examination of SUSPICIOUS MIND revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 5 (R0410) CLASS 5(A) – 1400M(sc) IPOH RAILWAY STATION HANDICAP
TRAFALGAR and VAIN TYCOON both are course scratching. TRAFALGAR had sustained stone bruised off fore whilst VAIN TYCOON had sustained bruised off croup. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Trainer R Lines made a representation to the Panel of Stewards and requested that Jockey KP Lim rides MAGIC KID, as he felt that the gelding is a difficult horse. The Panel of Stewards acceded to his request.
Acting on veterinary advice that STARHARMONY (App M Lukman) got its hind leg entangled in the barrier, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 2.53pm.
JULIUS CAESAR (App N Shahronnizam) jumped awkwardly.
BEIHAI TURBO (S Ruzaini) was obliged to race wide on the turn.
ASIAN JET (A Suriya) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
Trainer PK Leong would be questioned with regards to the improved performance of FAST AND SUPER (App A Nazir) today.

RACE 6 (R0411) CLASS 5 (B) –1400m (sc) ART OF OLDTOWN HANDICAP
BRISTOL DIAMOND, LIM’S HOPEFULLY and RAINBOW FISH all are course scratching. BRISTOL DIAMOND had sustained bruised off fore fetlock. LIM’S HOPEFULLY had sustained stone bruised off fore foot whilst RAINBOW FISH had sustained sore back. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again
ONE MILLION which was down 16kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
As there was no suitable apprentice available, the Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey J Chuah to replace App R Nuqman as the rider of THE SWAN.
As there was no suitable rider available, the Panel of Stewards acceded to a request from Trainer K Coetzee to withdraw POWER EXPRESS at 3.03pm.
USA CAPTAIN (App SN Shiva) was slow into stride.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that WINNING SMILE (App Z Syafifie) returned having cast its off fore plate.
A post-race veterinary examination of YOU ARE SPECIAL (AK Lim) revealed that the gelding had returned lame near fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

RACE 7 (R0412) CLASS 4(A) – 1200m (sc) HERITAGE TRAIL IPOH HANDICAP
KRUGER, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised off fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
As there was no suitable apprentice available, the Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey J Low to replace App R Nuqman as the rider of SILENT BOSS.
Acting on Starter’s advice that VILLAGE PRINCESS (KC Tham) was difficult to be boxed, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 3.49pm and the mare will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.
FIRE AWAY (A Suriya) was slow into stride.
Jockey KP Lim, the rider of D’GREAT JOURNEY reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of D’GREAT JOURNEY revealed no obvious abnormality.
A post-race veterinary examination of SILENT BOSS (J Low) revealed that the gelding had returned with epiglotic entrapment and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

RACE 8 (R0413) CLASS 5 (B) – 1100m (sc) KLEDANG HILLS HANDICAP
TILSWORTH MALI, JAPAN CAPTAIN and WINTERFELL all are course scratching. TILSWORTH MALI had sustained bruised near fore cannon whilst JAPAN CAPTAIN had sustained bruised off hock. WINTERFELL had sustained a bruised off fore suspensory ligament. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
As there was no suitable apprentice available, the Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey S Salee to replace App R Nuqman as the rider of LAGI BOLEH.
Trainer Peter Lee was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours on SAGE WARRIOR (App N Shahronnizam).
KIPEH (AK Lim) was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was passed fit to start.
DIAMOND SET (App SN Shiva) reared, jumping awkwardly.
PURE PERFECTION (App M Lukman) jumped awkwardly inwards.
HORSE KING jumped awkwardly outwards, resulting in App H Haikal striking his knee against the gate. He was stood down by the Club Medical Officer and was sent to the hospital for further medical treatment.
SAGE WARRIOR (App N Shahronnizam) was hanging out in the straight, finishing the race wide.
A post-race veterinary examination of HORSE KING (App H Haikal) revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that NIMBUS COURAGE (HS Gill) returned lame off fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

As there was no suitable apprentice available, the Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey J Chuah to replace App R Nuqman as the rider of KING POWER.
As there was no suitable rider available, the Panel of Stewards acceded to a request from Trainer KF Wong to withdraw KNIGHT LOVE at 3.08pm.
A post-race veterinary examination of AUTUMN BLITZ (AK Lim) revealed no obvious abnormality.

General Report- PRTC
INQUIRY INTO THE POST-RACE URINE SAMPLE CODED “34551” TAKEN FROM RACEHORSE “SPEEDY SWALLOW” WHICH FINISHED 2ND PLACING IN RACE 2 (MRA 0226) CLASS 5(B) 1600M(lc) – SWEET PEA HANDICAP, SUNDAY, 3RD MARCH 2024 – PERAK TURF CLUB MARCH RACE MEETING 2024 WHICH RETURNED POSITIVE TO “3-HYDROXY MEPIVACAINE; MEPIVACAINE”, A PROHIBITED SUBSTANCEIN TERMS OF MRA RULES.
The Panel of Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the above matter on Friday, 26th April 2024 at Perak Turf Club.
Evidence were taken from Trainer Peter Lee Choong Leng, the trainer of SPEEDY SWALLOW, Dr Chan Sue Hay, Chief Analyst of Usains Biomics Laboratory, Dr Reza Singam, Senior Veterinary Surgeon, PRTC.
Trainer Peter Lee pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 134(6)(a) as read with MRA Rule 134(13) and punishable under MRA Rule 134(7) in that he, as the Trainer and person responsible for presenting and accepting to run SPEEDY SWALLOW in the above race in which it finished 2nd placing and its post-race urine sample coded “34551” subsequently upon analysis, had returned positive to “3-Hydroxy mepivacaine; Mepivacaine”, a prohibited substance under the MRA Rules.
When deciding on the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into account Trainer Peter Lee’s guilty plea, mitigating factors and his previous record. Trainer Peter Lee was fined a sum of RM30,000/- (Ringgit Malaysia: Thirty Thousand Only). He was informed of his Right of Appeal (11.25am).
In terms of MRA Rule 134(11), SPEEDY SWALLOW was disqualified from the above race and the results will be amended accordingly.
SPEEDY SWALLOW will be subjected to provide a clearing sample under MRA Rule 134(12) before being declared to race again.
A subsequent urine sample taken from SPEEDY SWALLOW on 7th April 2024 was found to be negative to prohibited substances and as such, SPEEDY SWALLOW has been cleared to race by the Stewards under MRA Rule 134(12).

STR Firdzriel Nur Haqiemi Bin Izham (STR 5) was fined RM500/- for misconduct under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for being rude and show no respect to the club official when informed of his wrong doings for working the horse BEAT THE LIGHT (H232) on the straight course (No. 1 Track) which was designated as CLOSED for track work on 25th April 2024 at 9.00am
