Selangor Turf Club is pleased to announce the return of Jockey CC Wong, who has relocated to Selangor to continue his riding career following a successful international campaign.

At 32 years old, Wong brings extensive experience accumulated over more than a decade in the saddle. His racing journey began in his hometown of Penang, where he started work as a syce in 2010 under his first mentor and greatest career influence, Trainer Dr Tan Swee Hock.

Wong was first granted his apprentice jockey licence in January 2014, indentured to Dr Tan at Penang Turf Club. During his Malaysian apprenticeship period, he rode 51 winners.

In July 2015, he moved to Singapore and became indentured to Trainer David Hill. He was later granted his professional jockey licence in July 2019. Across his tenure in Singapore, Wong achieved 271 wins, establishing himself as one of the leading riders and becoming a two‑time Singapore Champion Apprentice Jockey.

With Singapore racing concluding after the Group 1 Singapore Gold Cup (2000m) on 5 October 2024, Wong was among the first riders to secure a new base abroad. He relocated to Seoul, South Korea, making his riding debut there on 2 March 2024, where he continued to ride winners and gain valuable international exposure.

Following the closure of Singapore Turf Club, Wong completed a successful stint in Korea riding 106 winners and has now returned to Malaysia, based at Selangor Turf Club.

He is booked for seven rides this Sunday, and the Club warmly welcomes him back, wishing him continued success in the next chapter of his career.
