Sincefoon Hero (6b.a.g Frosted – Strega by Lake Coniston)

Sincefoon Hero’s career is back on track after back-to-back victories in Malaysia and no one is more delighted than his trainer Ricky Choi.

The son of Frosted won his only run over 1000m at three at Gawler and had a second over the distance at Murray Bridge from two starts at four in Australia before moving to Macau.

He struggled in his first season at Taipa, managing just a third from eight appearances but he found his form to win twice in his first five starts the following season.

On the second occasion, he romped ome by six lengths but failed to reproduce that sort of form in five subsequent outings which puzzled Choi.

“I tried to find the answer. A scan found a chip on his right fore,” said Choi.

Sincefoon Hero is Andre Luiz Da Silva’s fifth winner of the day

The Australian gelding underwent a successful operartion and recovery but by then racing at Taipa had ceased and he was earmarked to continue his career in Malaysia.

Sincefoon Hero landed in Malaysia in June last year and since then Choi gave the gelding plenty of time to acclimatize. It was only three weeks ago that Choi decided to throw him in the ring and the six-year-old repaid his patience with a comfortable win in a Class 4A race over 1200m.

Sincefoon Hero defied a promotion to score another impressive win in the Class 3 – 1200m sprint at Sungai Besi today.

Ridden by Andre Da Silva, Sincefoon Hero tracked the pacemaker Darc Bounty in second place before sweeping past the leader 200m out to win as he liked by 3-1/2 lengths.

The favourite Pacific MV finished second ahead of Sincefoon Hero’s stablemate Dragon Claw.

“He (Sincefoon Hero) has recovered well after the surgery and seems to have thrived in Malaysia,” added Choi.

“I expect further improvement from him and he should win again even in Class 2.”

It was the first time Choi and Da Silva teamed up in Malaysia.

“I am glad he finally won a race for me. He rode for me several times in Macau but did not manage a win,” said Choi.
