Leaving the 300M, FRIEND OF HONOR which attempted to improve into a narrow run was carried in by PACIFIC SONIC which shifted in away from the whip when hanging in in the straight. Subsequently, FRIEND OF HONOR was disappointed for a clear run at the 200M and had to switch out to obtain clear running in the concluding stages.
A race review was called into this incident, which was followed by an objection being lodged by Trainer S Dunderdale, the Trainer of the second placed horse, FRIEND OF HONOR (R Shafiq) against the winner, PACIFIC SONIC (PH Seow) on the grounds of interference from the 250M. After considering the evidence in this matter, the Panel of Stewards overruled the objection and ordered the judge’s result to stand.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, App S Bahauddin, the rider of WAIT U KNOW, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, J Leck, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding WAIT U KNOW, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to BULL FIGHT and FAMILY DELIGHT at approximately the 800M.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App S Bahauddin’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) race day to be served on 5 April 2026. In lieu of one (1) race day, he was also fined RM1000/-. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey KC Low’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) race days with effect from 30 March 2026 and to expire on 11 April 2026, both dates inclusive He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey KC Wong’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) race day to be deferred and served on 11 April 2026. In lieu of one (1) race day, he was also fined RM1,500/–. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

The report dated 19 March 2026 (V26/038) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 37 coded urine and 37 sets of coded blood samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 15 March 2026, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.
