Selangor Turf Club is pleased to note that Jockey Simon Kok Wei Hoong is set to make a comeback to race riding in Malaysia, marking an important new chapter in the career of one of the region’s most recognisable young talents.

Kok, a former Singapore Champion Apprentice Jockey, rose quickly through the ranks with his strong work ethic, sharp tactical instincts, and natural affinity with lightweight mounts. His breakthrough seasons in Singapore established him as a rider with both flair and discipline, earning the confidence of leading trainers and owners across the circuit.

Following the closure of the Singapore Turf Club in October 2024, Kok stepped away from competitive riding to reassess his career direction. His return now signals a renewed focus and determination to re‑establish himself at the highest level of racing in the region.

Having built a reputation for consistency, professionalism, and a calm riding style under pressure, Kok’s comeback is expected to add further depth to the local jockey ranks. His lightweight capability and proven track record with progressive horses will provide trainers and owners with valuable options in upcoming race meetings.

Kok’s return also carries a sense of homecoming, as he reconnects with the Malaysian racing community where his early ambitions first took shape. With fresh motivation and international experience behind him, he now looks poised to make a meaningful impact on the Selangor racing scene.

Selangor Turf Club welcomes his return and looks forward to his participation in future race meetings.
