EXCLUSIVE MEMORY

Apprentice M Akmazani was fined RM250/- under MRA Rule 107(10) for failing to make the carded weight. The Panel of Stewards granted permission for Jockey AK Lim to replace App M Akmazani as the rider of the gelding. Jockey reported that this gelding showed no interest in the run from the 900M and despite efforts, the gelding eased itself from the race. Poor performance – 1000M/Vet. Vet inspection: Respiratory infection.

Had to ease and had to shift when awkwardly placed on heels, thereafter was angled out for a clear run.  *(See Report)

Jockey AL Da Silva was questioned regarding his ride on SINCEFOON HERO. In this regard, he explained that despite his efforts, this gelding had not shown the speed that he anticipated in the early stages. Accordingly, he was positioned further back than he would have preferred. He further explained that upon entering the straight, he encountered traffic issues on more than one occasions resulting in him having to switch. It was his view that the leaders obtained the first run on him and he was unable to close them down by the time of the finish, whilst securing a clear run.

GENERAL REPORT(S) – SLTC

RACE 7 (R0431) SUPREME A – 1400M (LC A6), SUNDAY, 22 JUNE 2025, SELANGOR TURF CLUB JUNE MEETING 2025

The Stewards, on Sunday, 29 June 2025 at the Selangor Turf Club, concluded an inquiry into the running and handling of TE AKAU BEN in the above race.  Evidence was taken from App I Fikri, the rider of TE AKAU BEN, in the presence of his Employing Trainer L Moy, and Trainer S Dunderdale, the Trainer of TE AKAU BEN.

After reviewing the films of the incident and considering the evidence tendered, App I Fikri was found guilty of a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App I Fikri’s mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) month with effect from 30 June 2025 and to expire on 29 July 2025, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

The report dated 26 June 2025 (V25/097) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 37 coded urine and 37 sets of coded blood samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 22 June 2025, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.
