Former Australian galloper KIM EMPEROR appears on target to maintain his unbeaten Malaysian record in the 1400m Open Novice contest at Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.

KIM EMPEROR had been trailing well against some higher graded rivals prior to his local debut against maiden opposition here a fortnight ago.

Attracting an abundance of market support to start a RM6 favourite, the four year old never appeared in any danger over the 1300m trip to deliver an authoritative 3.75 length victory.

KIM EMPEROR posted four minor placings from five starts in Australia and the Richard Lines trained performer indicates the potential to win at the higher level.
