RACE 2 (R1356)       CLASS 5 (b) – 1600M (C4 SHORT COURSE)

The Stewards inquired into Jockey KC Tham’s  riding of CHIEF CLERK in this race.

After considering the evidence from Jockey KC Tham and also reviewing the performance of CHIEF CLERK, the Stewards found Jockey KC Tham guilty of a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the charge being that whilst riding CHIEF CLERK between the 700M and the 550M mark when on the inside of the horse THE ICEMAN, he restrained his mount unduly to be in a position whereby he lost ground.  

The Stewards took into consideration Jockey KC Tham’s riding record, mitigating factors and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) month with effect from 21 November 2022 and to expire on 20 December 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal (6:40pm).


RACE 7 (R1361)       SUPREME A – 1400M (C4 LONG COURSE)

SPORTS TOTO SUPREME CHALLENGE CUP 2022 

At the conclusion of an inquiry, App I Fikri,   the rider of GINGERELLA, in the presence of his Employing Trainer’s representative, Trainer MW Teh, pleaded guilty to a charge of reckless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(i) in that he shifted in at this stage.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App I Fikri’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record, his submissions on penalty and the severity of the incident. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) month with effect from 21 November 2022 and to expire on 20 December 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal (4:18pm).
