At the conclusion of an inquiry, App G Farhan, the rider of BANKER’S DREAM, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, BT Lim, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding BANKER’S DREAM, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to FORTUNE MAGIC and INVESTOR leaving the 1000M.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App G Farhan’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) SLTC race day with effect from 1 March 2026 and to expire on 8 March 2026, both dates inclusive. In lieu of one (1) Malaysian race day, he was also fined RM1000/-. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

Jockey XC Liang was fined RM500/- under MRA Rule 106(5) for being in a possession of a mobile phone in the Jockeys Room during race day.


POST RACE URINE:                                  

7 & 8 FEBRUARY 2026

SELANGOR TURF CLUB FEBRUARY MEETING 2026

A report dated 19 February 2026 (V26/017) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 69 coded urine and 69 sets of coded blood samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 8 February 2026, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected except for sample coded “39199” which revealed the presence of “Dextrorphan”. After decoding the sample number, it was established that this sample was reported to have been taken from the horse “BANKER’S EMPIRE” which finished first (1st) in Race 4 on Sunday, 8 February 2026 at the Selangor Turf Club February Meeting 2026.

On 20 February 2026, Trainer BT Lim was advised of the contents of this report and his attention was drawn to MRA Rule 134(12) which prohibits this horse from racing until it is cleared by the Stewards, and MRA Rule 137(1)/MRA Regulation 46.1 & 46.2 relating to the Referee Sample. An Inquiry related to this matter will be conducted at a date to be fixed.

Following the aforementioned report, the stables of Trainer BT Lim were raided and samples from his horses were taken for analysis which results are awaited from the laboratory.


JOCKEY URINE SAMPLES:

7 & 8 FEBRUARY 2026

SELANGOR TURF CLUB FEBRUARY MEETING 2026

The report dated 19 February 2026 (V26/018) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 6 coded urine samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 8 February 2026, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected except for sample coded “J-5214” which revealed the presence of “Nordazepam”. After decoding the sample number, it was established that this sample was reported to have been taken from Jockey S John.

On 20 February 2026, Jockey S John was advised of the contents of this report and that he was suspended from riding in trackwork and races pending an inquiry in terms of MRA Rule 136(3)(b). He was also advised of the contents of MRA Rule 137 and MRA Regulation 46 relating to the Referee Sample. An inquiry into this matter will be held on a date to be fixed.
