Jockey S Ruzaini appeared before the panel and was questioned regarding his ride on EVER RELIABLE. His attention was specifically drawn to whether he could take more proactive measures from the 700M to 550M mark, during which time SHEESH appeared to increase his lead on the field.
In this regard, he was of the view that SHEESH which was up in weight and distance, had run a fast middle sectional of the race and he anticipated that the horse would come back to the field. However, as EVER RELIABLE doesn’t show good tactical speed in the running, he was cautious not to take this gelding out of the comfort zone too soon. In his view, had he done so, EVER RELIABLE would not have finished its race off as strong as he did. The Panel noted his explanation.
