ZYGARDE which was up 19kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start. Prior to the running of the race, Trainer EP Tan and App Z Syafifie were questioned about their intentions with regards to the running of GOOD CHILLI today. Trainer EP Tan advised the Stewards that he was intending to have this horse to sit mid-field. This was noted. GREAT COMMAND (WH Kok) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start. OLIVER KHAN (HS Gill) jumped awkwardly outwards at the start. BALKAN (S Ruzaini) hesitated, jumped awkwardly and was slow to begin. At the start, FLYING SPIDER (R Narendran) jumped awkwardly outwards, crowding MIRACLE STAR (KC Tham). Thereafter, MIRACLE STAR was hanging out and was difficult to settle approaching the turn. GREAT COMMAND was difficult to settle approaching the first turn and thereafter, hung out under pressure in the straight. The saddle on PURE PERFECTION (CK Tan) slipped back during the running.

FLEXI LAD was scratched by the order of the Panel of Stewards (under embargo). Trainer V Sivan was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours on TORNADO PEGASUS. At the start, LAXON (S Hafis) sat back and lost considerable ground and will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again. TORNADO PEGASUS (S Ruzaini) was trapped wide on the turn. A post-race veterinary examination of RICH N POWERFUL (SU Lim) revealed no obvious abnormality. The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that TRIBUTO (CK Tan) bled and as such, the gelding will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a Bleeder’s test before being entered to race again.

LUCKY SEVENTY-ONE, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised off fore fetlock, will be required to pass a Veterinary examination before being declared to race again. KONG FU PANDA (M Hanif) was withdrawn by order of the Stewards at 12:23pm. At the start, MARQUEZ (HK Cheng) jumped awkwardly outwards onto BUURAQ SIXTY-ONE (O Chavez) which crowded TAU KEH SOH (S Ruzaini) and SIMON (HS Gill). TAU KEH SOH lost some ground in this incident. GLORIOUS BISCUIT fly-jumped at the start, unbalancing Jockey AM Aizat and was a little slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination of SIMON revealed no obvious abnormality. The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that MAGIC MANDY (SU Lim) bled and as such, the mare will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a Bleeder’s test before being entered to race again.

SUPER RUSH, a course scratching as it had sustained an injury on the float, will be required to pass a Veterinary examination before being declared to race again. Prior to the running of the race, Trainer R Lines and Jockey S Ruzaini were questioned about their intentions with regards to the running of ZERO FIVE SIX today. According to a letter from Trainer R Lines who was not on-course, he was intending to have this horse to sit handy or midfield. This was noted. At the start, HERITAGE SIXTY-ONE (O Chavez) fly-jumped outwards onto THE WARDEN (KC Tham). DASHING SPEED (S Zulfikri) jumped awkwardly with its head up at the start and raced wide on the turn. Jockey S Zulfikri, the rider of DASHING SPEED was shown the video re-plays of the race and was questioned regarding his ride. He was advised that the Stewards were not entirely happy with his ride and he was told to ride all his horses out in a manner so as to leave no room for query in future. CHIEF ADL (AK Lim) was pulling in the backstraight and stumbled at about the 800M. QUEEN OF STAR (AM Aizat) drifted outwards under pressure in the closing stages. A post-race veterinary examination of DASHING SPEED will follow, as the gelding could not be scoped.

GOLD PLAN (R Rueven) which hesitated at the start and lost considerable ground, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again. At the start, KIM LUCKY fly-jumped, bumped the inside gate, unbalanced Jockey S Hafis and was a little slow to begin. ETERNAL FORTUNE (SU Lim) was trapped wide on the first turn. ANKARA (SN Shiva) shifted in away from the whip under pressure in the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination of HAPPY FRANKEL (S Ruzaini) revealed no obvious abnormality. The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that PERFECT MISSION (M Hanif) returned with nasal discharge from its right nostril, however the gelding does not require further action(s).

SNOW STORM and SHANG CHI, both were course scratchings. SNOW STORM had sustained a sore back whilst SHANG CHI had sustained a bruised near fore fetlock. Each will be required to pass a Veterinary examination before being declared to race again. As there was no suitable rider available, the Panel of Stewards permitted App Z Syafifie to replace Jockey S Saddam as the rider of HEAVENLY WARRIOR. XENA (A Suriya) cast its near fore plate at the barriers, was re-shod and was passed fit to race. HEAVENLY WARRIOR (App Z Syafifie) was restless in the barrier, jumped awkwardly with its head up.

FLYING FIGHTER, a course scratching as it had sustained swollen near fore fetlock will be required to pass a Veterinary examination before being declared to race again Trainer PH Khor was fined RM1,000/- under PRTC Official Programme Clause 5.09 for scratching FOREVER LOVE without a veterinary certificate. Prior to the running of the race, Acting Trainer W Looi (for Trainer D Kok) and Jockey O Chavez were questioned about their intentions with regards to the running of SHOW ALL SIXTY-ONE today. Trainer W Looi advised the Stewards that he was intending to have this horse to be in the first four from the start. This was noted. Prior to the running of the race, Trainer P Lee and Jockey KC Tham were questioned about their intentions with regards to the running of MONTANA FLASH today. Trainer P Lee advised the Stewards that he was intending for this horse to have a good jump and race mid-field. This was noted. Acting on veterinary advice that FOREST GOLD (R Rueven) was lame off fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 3.44pm. The gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again. Trainer K Coetzee was questioned with regards to the apparent improved performance of SACRED SKY (App Z Syafifie) today. He advised the Panel of Stewards that he had rasped the horse’s teeth and sent him for a two-week spelling, that may have contributed to its improved performance. His explanation was noted.

ONCE UPON A TIME, a course scratching as it had sustained bruised both fore feet, will be required to pass a Veterinary examination before being declared to race again Prior to the running of the race, Trainer PH Khor and Jockey S Hafis were questioned about their intentions with regards to the running of BROTHERLY LOVE today. Trainer PH Khor advised the Stewards that he was intending to have this horse to be handy to midfield. This was noted. FOREVER SIXTY-ONE (O Chavez) jumped awkwardly inwards and bumped MAINSTREAM (WH Kok) at the start. FA FA STAR (S Zulfikri) jumped awkwardly outwards, brushed the outside gate and was slow to begin. MOON LIGHT SHADOW (HS Gill) jumped awkwardly inwards and brushed the inside gate. FOREVER SIXTY-ONE hung out passing the 400M. Thereafter, the horse shifted in away from the whip under pressure passing the 200M. GUN (R Nuqman) drifted outwards in the homestraight and finished the race wide. A post-race veterinary examination of GUN revealed that the gelding returned with respiratory distress and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again. The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that MAINSTREAM bled and as this is the gelding’s consecutive bleeding attack, it will be barred from racing for a period of six (6) months under MRA Rule 92(5)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a Bleeder’s test before being entered to race again.

ORMAN CHAI (AK Lim) and CANDY RAIN (App Z Syafifie) were examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and were passed fit to start. SUPER FAST (AM Aizat) was a little slow into stride after the start. TOP CHILLI (SN Shiva) jumped awkwardly at the start and raced wide, as did NEVER ASK MORE (CK Tan). CLASSIC LEGEND (S Ruzaini) was baulked for a clear run at about the 200M-mark. ORMAN CHAI was baulked for a clear run between the 300M-mark and the 200M-mark. Post-race veterinary examinations of INTENT (S Zulfikri) and JEWEL SIXTY-ONE (O Chavez) revealed no obvious abnormality.

MIEJ, a course scratching as it had sustained sole bruise off fore, will be required to pass a Veterinary examination before being declared to race again. As there was no suitable rider available, the Panel of Stewards permitted App Z Syafifie to replace Jockey S Saddam as the rider of BEST CHILLI. MAGIC PLAYER (KP Lim) was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 12:23pm on compassionate grounds. HAZARD (AM Aizat) was restless in its barrier and jumped awkwardly. FAST AND FEARLESS (S Ruzaini) jumped awkwardly, was slow to begin and thereafter, over-raced. An Inquiry into the running and handling of MAKE YOU HAPPY (KC Tham) will be held at a date to be fixed.

SUSPICIOUS MIND, a course scratching as it had sustained sole bruised near hind, will be required to pass a Veterinary examination before being declared to race again. REY ELVIS which was down 22kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start. Acting on veterinary advice that PERFECT IMPACT (S Ruzaini) was lame off fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 6.12pm. The gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again. As the start was effected, SALAMENCE (O Chavez) refused to jump and took no part, despite its gate opening correctly. As such, it was declared a runner and the gelding will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again. MALAKAI (App Z Syafifie) was slow into stride after the start. REY ELVIS (AM Aizat) attempted to take the Short Course and ducked in sharply. In doing so, caused INFINITY WARRIOR (HS Gill) and FOUNTAIN OF FAME (A Suriya) who were following, to check. Jockey AM Aizat, the rider of REY ELVIS was shown the video re-plays of his ride in the straight and he was fined RM250/- under MRA Rule 41(6)(b) for his whip use.
