The Stewards inquired into App S Uzair’s riding of THE SWAN in this race. Evidence was taken from App S Uzair and Trainer S Dunderdale, the trainer of THE SWAN and his Employing Trainer’s representative.
After considering the evidence and also reviewing the films of THE SWAN, the Stewards found App S Uzair guilty of a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the charge being that in the opinion of the Stewards, his riding of THE SWAN was inconsistent and lack of purpose in terms of his tactics in getting the best out of THE SWAN over the final 175M.
The Stewards took into consideration App S Uzair’s riding record, mitigating factors and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) months, to be deferred, with effect from 9 January 2023 and to expire on 8 March 2023, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

7 MY FIRST MILLION
(J Low) Half reared when the start was effected and then bounded, causing the rider to lose both stirrup irons and became partially unseated. The gelding was then restrained and took no part in the race. In light of the gelding’s poor stall history, it will be required to pass 2 Starting Stall tests before being declared to race again. Rider was subsequently stood down by Club Doctor.

RACE 3 (R1450) CLASS 4b – 1275M (II)
This race was rescheduled to start at 2:45pm due to regional commitments.
1 ASAAD
(App S Sia) Rider reported the gelding felt awkward in its actions, losing its position at the 600M. Vet inspection: No significant finding.

(App KH Chong) Veered inwards at the start, bumping runner.
4 ACE’S WILD
(M Ewe) Had to be steadied when crowded on jumping.
6 TIGRESS
(App WW Cheah) Crowded and had to check off heels shortly after the start and was subsequently ridden rearward.

The Stewards inquired into App WW Cheah’s ride on APOLLO ROCK. After taking evidence from App WW Cheah and his Employing Trainer, R Lines who is also the trainer of APOLLO ROCK, the Stewards adjourned the inquiry to allow them to review the videos of the horse’s previous performances and suggested traits.
