The National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA) extended its support to the Selangor Turf Club in a concerted effort to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of taking proactive measures. On Thursday, 6 November 2025, approximately 150 individuals—including trainers, jockeys, syces, and club staff—attended a NADA-led awareness session at the Club. The event aimed to promote the Workplace Drug-Free Program (TEKAD).

As Malaysia’s leading government agency in the fight against drug abuse, NADA remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering comprehensive services in treatment, rehabilitation, prevention, and enforcement. These efforts align with its overarching mission to create a drug-free nation. The agency also manages drug rehabilitation centers across the country.

The Drug-Free Workplace Program is designed to foster a safe and healthy working environment, minimize the risk of workplace accidents and injuries, and enhance overall productivity and performance. Addressing drug and substance abuse in the workplace has become a key priority for employers, given its significant impact on occupational safety and health.

During the session, participants also had the opportunity to explore exhibits showcasing various types of drugs and the harmful consequences of their misuse.

“The Selangor Turf Club has long collaborated with the Police to monitor and prevent substance abuse within our premises. Today, with NADA’s support, we’ve delivered a focused educational initiative to equip our workforce with the knowledge and resilience needed to combat drug-related issues,” said Dato’ Michael Fong, Chief Executive Officer of the Selangor Turf Club.

He reaffirmed the Club’s dedication to maintaining a safe, healthy, and productive workplace and expressed his gratitude to Lembaga Totalisator Malaysia (LTM) and the Club’s horse trainers for their active support of the Workplace Drug-Free Program.

Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer of LTM, Puan Nor Hashimah expressed that she was overwhelmed with the large turnout at the talk. She emphasized that such initiatives play a vital role in eradicating drug abuse by fostering collaboration and offering the necessary support to the workforce in the industry.
