It is going to be a great battle in the Trainers’ Championship between Richard Lines and Frank Maynard.
Just before last weekend races, Richard Lines was holding a slim lead of 50 winners with Maynard close on his heels with 47 winners.
At the weekend races with a card of nine on Saturday and eleven on Sunday, Frank Maynard saddled four winners and drew level with Richard Lines with 51 winners each.
Maynard started with Dahees on Saturday and continued his winning ways on Sunday where he triumphed in Race 4 with The Jeuneyman, Symphony Eclipse in Race 5 and capped a great day with former Singapore galloper in Brahma Circus in Race 9.
Trainer Charles Leck also had a grand share of the wins over the weekend with four winners and is currently lying third in the table with 39 winners.
Charles Leck managed to saddle a winner on Saturday with Prince Raven in Race 6 and chalked up three winners on Sunday with Speed Craft (Race 1), Full Bet (Race 6) and Guiltless (Race 11).
Trainer Simon Dunderable saddled a double on Saturday with Dawn of The World (Race 3) and Roc That (Race 4), while trainer Tan Soo Beng got a double on Sunday with Nova Falcon (Race 7) and Ateej (Race 8).
Trainers KF Wong (Dane’s Anatomy, Race 1), Richard Lines (Red Sapphire, Race 2), PS Kumaran (Condado, Race 7), SY Lim (Scrat, Race 8), Mohd Sukri (Sgfifity, Race 9) all saddled a winner on Saturday.
On Sunday, Perak based trainer Peter Lee (William King, Race 2), Johnny Lim (D Great Bless, Race 3), Steven Cook (Second Chance, Race 10) also saddled a winner each.
Leading Jockey, S Ruzaini was in great form when he rode five winners over the weekend.
He got his first winner on Red Sapphire (Race 2) and Dhees (Race 5) on Saturday and on Sunday, he rode a treble in The Jeuneyman (Race 4), Full Bet (Race 6) and Brahma Circus (Race 9) and has tally of 37 winners.
Jockey M Ganesh rode a fine treble on Saturday in Dawn Of The World (Race 3), Roc That (Race 4) and Scrat (Race 8) and has a tally of 29 winners.
Jockey Oscar Chavez rode a double on Sunday in Nova Falcon (Race 7) and Ateej (Race 8).
Jockey Jose De Souza also rode a double on Sunday on Speed Craft, Race 1) and Guiltless (Race 11).
Jockeys Z.Khairil (Dane’s Anatomy, Race 1), Apprentice A.Suriya (Prince Raven, Race 6), KC Wong (Condado, Race 7), S. Anandan (Sgfifty, Race 9) all rode a winner each on Saturday.
On Sunday, Jockeys HS Gill (D’ Great Bless, Race 3), WK Yan (William King, Race 2) and P. Mogun (Second Chance, Race 10) rode a winner each.

Saturday – 4 August

Trainer Simon Dunderable’s Roc That bears watching, judging from the victory in a Class 4 event over 1400m. The seven-year-old by Roc De Cambes staved off the challenge from Feisty Leo in the home stretch to win very well. Roc That showed a return to form and keep a note.
Dahees has finally greeted the judges in the Open Maiden event over 1200m on Saturday should be racing in better company soon. The Frank Maynard trained five-year-old by Per Incanto was just simply too good for the rest winning in a convincing manner.

Sunday – 5 August
Trainer Frank Maynard’s Symphony Eclipse broke the ice in fine fashion over 1200m in Race 5 and should keep a close watch. The four-year-old by Red Giant with Jockey Y Alify on board, came with a pulverising run at the top of the straight to beat Alrina.
Nova Falcon displayed supremacy once again when outclassed the rest of the rivals to win in Class 4 over 1200m in Race 7 on Sunday at Selangor Turf Club. The four-year-old by Falkirk with Panamanian Jockey Oscar Chavez was tucked in handy spot till home bend and swept past the early leaders to win drawing away. Trained by Tan Soon Beng, Nova Falcon is a potential top class material and should be racing in better class soon.
