The quest for fame will be on the card at this year’s Selangor Turf Club International Racing Carnival which will start off this weekend.
As expected, a huge crowd of international visitors are expected to witness the final leg of the ever popular Triple Crown Series – the Piala Emas Sultan Selangor over the grueling 2000m on Sunday, 29 September.
The Selangor Turf Club will stage the Trainer and Jockey Challenge with a prize money of RM10,000 for the winner, RM3,000 and RM2,000 to the second and third place winners respectively.
The winner of the selected races will get 9 points, second place 4 points and third place will be awarded 2 points. Just in case of a tie, the winning money will be shared.
The challenge will be for 15 races namely the Piala Emas Sultan Selangor, Sungei Besi Autoworld Cup, Magic Millions Gold Coast 2YO Sale Trophy,
Perak Turf Club Trophy, Penang Turf Club Trophy, Singapore Turf Club Trophy, Melbourne Racing Club Trophy, Kenilworth Cup, The Royal Bangkok Sports Club Trophy, Japan Racing Association Trophy, Jockey Club of Turkey Trophy, Mauritius Turf Club Trophy, Macau Jockey Club Goodwill Cup, Korea Racing Authority Trophy and Singapore Pools Trophy.
Besides adding colour and excitement to the International Racing Carnival, this challenge is aimed to encourage a healthy competition among the trainers and jockeys which will make horse racing more fun and competitive.
