RACE 1 (7-9-3-5)

ARAGON PEGASUS (7) and PACIFIC SOLDIER (9) finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in a Rebound Stakes race on May 23 and are expected to feature in the placings in Race One. Despite not winning for 17 months, ARAGON PEGASUS (7) is a winner over this track/distance and is due to strike. GRIFFIN (3) went back-to-back in this grade back in February while NAUGHTY KID (5) scored in similar company recently.

RACE 2 (1-9-3-8)

Following some encouraging performances in Class 4 company, PACIFIC HUNTER (1) looks set to run a big race at his second run in Class 5 grade. The six year old closed off well from a slow beginning over 1020m a fortnight ago and is a genuine chance to break his Malaysian duck. RHYTHM OF ZEN (2) and TANTHEMAN (3) are seasoned campaigners who should both perform better on the downgrade. WINS EIGHT (9) is likely to lead from gate ten and could be hard to run over if allowed to dictate terms from the top end. MATCH FACTORY (8) broke the winning drought recently and is one for the trifectas.

RACE 3 (8-5-4-12)

MY DETERMINATION (8) caught the eye with a fast finishing 4th last start and will be reunited with apprentice Z Syafifie, who rode the gelding to his most recent victory on April 5. OTAHUHU (5) is becoming the perennial bridesmaid but his winning turn is not far away. TOMMY GUN (4) does not win often but he did deliver a victory last start while PRINCE LONHRO (12) is knocking on the door following three successive seconds and is well weighted. THUNDER STAR (1) and SANTINO (3) are the downgraders and are worthy of consideration.

RACE 4 (4-2-1-3)

RELEASE THE SPIRIT (4) has been racing well and should be primed after three runs this campaign. Leading from barrier twelve last start he did a good job to finish 3rd, beaten one length over 1275m. IRON SAMURAI (2) is a fast beginner which has the capacity to overcome the wide draw. The seven year old has been a model of consistency this year and jockey M Ekdihar has won three times aboard the gelding from seven mounts. BULL FIGHT (1) is coming off an impressive win but goes up 2kg and draws deeper while PACIFIC WARLORD (3) is rarely far off the mark. Another last start winner LIGHTNING GAL (6) is a handy sit sprinter who has recaptured her best form also.

RACE 5 (4-11-12-8)

The 1200m Open Maiden is an interesting contest with numerous chances. On exposed form MEGA BLAZE (4) can go close after posting three seconds from eight starts but has to contend with the outside draw. NEVER GIVE AN INCH (11) had been trialing well prior to his debut where he clipped heels during the run and never recovered in a Restricted Maiden four weeks ago and is a definite improver. SILVER SILVER (12) should also perform better at start number two while FORTUNE COOKIE (8) has been well prepared with three trials recently and the filly has the potential to show up on debut.

RACE 6 (4-3-6-8)

RIZZLER (4) is a chance to break through at Class 3 level following two runs in the country. A Class 4 winner on local debut, the four year old is likely to lead again and could prove hard to beat over the slightly longer journey. BANKER’S PRETTY(3)  should break her Malaysian duck very soon providing luck goes her way while PACIFIC MV (6) has been recording some fast closing sectionals lately and is capable of returning to winning form. BANKER’S DREAM (8) should measure up on the upgrade and NO MORE DELAY (5) turned back the clock with a resounding victory at big odds last start and is a chance again.

RACE 7 (2-3-7-8)

PACIFIC FIGHTER (2) has the hoof on the till and is due to break through in Malaysia following a string of minor placings. WINNING POINT (3) draws wide but he did finish runner up on his local debut and is a previous second up winner in Australia. Former champion Singapore apprentice Harry Kasim is back in town and picks up a good ride with last start winner EASTERN BARRACKS (7), which continues to race well this preparation. DRAGON CLAW (8) has been racing a fraction below his best but can improve while ASTRO NASCENTE (4) can be hard to catch but can be considered if there is market support.

RACE 8 (5-8-9-10)

SHEESH (5) can make amends and lead throughout over the shorter trip to continue the successful combination with 3kg claiming apprentice J Ikram (4:3-1-0). MEGA RISING (8) is still a 3yo but has improved with race experience. VARIANT (9) delivered an overdue victory two runs back before going down by a head last start while THE WILD CHIEF (10) continues to give away big starts but is capable of running over the top if a genuine pace is set early.

RACE 9 (8-5-1-10)

A tough race to wind up the nine race program where BIG MAX (8) and KITSUNE (5) are set for a rematch after they filled the quinella in a 1300m Class 5B on May 3. BIG MAX (8) has the speed to lead and could win again on the freshen up. CONTARELLI (1) has descended to a winnable rating while GANBATTE (10) and DON’TTELLMYWIFE (2) appear minor chances back in the “B” division.
