Securing the Future: The Community Horse Project
January 23, 2026
This pioneering program is designed to safeguard the future of Malaysian horse racing by establishing a self-sustaining ecosystem for horse ownership—one that is accessible, rewarding, and built to last.
At the heart of CHP is the sourcing of young, high-quality horses from leading international auction houses, coupled with the creation of new entry-level ownership opportunities. Each horse is carefully vetted for health and performance, including comprehensive X-rays and pre-purchase examinations, ensuring only the finest prospects enter the racing field
To ease the process for buyers, Horse City manages all import and travel protocols, guaranteeing a seamless transition from purchase to stable. The project is anchored by collaborations with globally renowned sales companies and industry leaders, including:
- Magic Millions Sales Pty Limited
- William Inglis & Sons Limited
- Inglis Digital Australia
- New Zealand Bloodstock Limited
- NZB Airfreight
- Equine International Airfreight (EIAF)
- Singapore Pools Pte Ltd
- Cameron Highlands Spelling Station
- Frankie Thevarasa Equine Quarantine Services
To further encourage investment in future champions, SLTC will introduce exclusive bonus and incentive schemes for CHP horses. Between 1 August 2026 and 31 July 2027, a dedicated series of 24 races will be staged, offering a minimum prize pool of RM1.6 million.
Additionally, CHP horses benefit from a four-month REF exemption starting from their first race and are eligible to compete in all MRA events, including Malaysia’s most prestigious races. This provides owners with an exceptional platform to showcase their horses and maximize racing potential.
The inaugural sale will take place online from 26–30 January 2026 via inglisdigitalmalaysia.com. Interested owners may contact Mr Kavine at 012-406 6649 to register for the auction and attend the CHP Open Viewing Day at Highlands Equine Retreat, Ringlet, Pahang Darul Makmur on 26 January 2026.
“CHP represents a significant investment in the future of our sport. We call upon all industry stakeholders, Club Members, business associates, owners, trainers, and jockeys to encourage their networks and bring in new prospects to experience the thrill of horse ownership. We also invite current owners to expand their stables. This is more than a sale—it is the foundation of our racing community’s future,” said Tan Sri Datuk Richard Cham Hak Lim, Chairman of Selangor Turf Club.
