19 May Kuala Lumpur

Jason Ong had a terrific day once again saddling four winners across the meeting including all of Smart Like Jason, Pacific Warrior, Pacific Vampire and Pacific Warlord who broke the 1020m track record in a blistering time of 58 seconds flat. The runner up Handsome Joyful was the previous holder and actually broke his previous time but managed to find one better on the day in the form of Pacific Warlord.

Jerome Tan and Oscar Chavez

Of Ong’s four winners, PH Seow was aboard three of them for the Pacific team in a brilliant day dominating the rivals. She currently sits fifth on the jockey premiership log on 17 wins for the season and 12 behind leading jockey, AL Da Silva who sits on 29. J Ong continues to run away at the top of the trainers log with 13 wins and sits 13 ahead of NM Selvan in second.

The other notable winner on the day was the stable companion Pacific Vampire in the Supreme A Stakes in race 9 going start to finish with his customary front running style and beat the opposition by 3 lengths in a rather facile manner. The biggest margin of victory came in the lucky last as Ahone broke the Malaysian duck at the fourth attempt for the J Tan stable and O Chavez opening up his Malaysian account for the season with front running tactics and winning by just over 5 lengths to close the meeting.

Racing returns next week Sunday on the 25th of May at the Selangor Turf Club with the 3YO Sprint Championship just around the corner on the 1st of June.
