High class former Singapore galloper Order Of The Sun is likely to be a top contender in the second leg of the ever popular Triple Crown Series – the Selangor Gold Cup in 20th. May.

The Charles Leck trained seven year-old gelding by Encosta De Lago ridden by jockey S Ruzaini took the spoils in Race 8 on Sunday. He was handy in third place till the final 200m when he struck for home with a pulverizing run and staved off the challenge from Rising Glory.

Judging from that victory, Order Of The Sun is one to note.

SB Tan trained Aspen, who has been knocking on the door, finally manage to greet the judges in Race 6.

The seven-year-old gelding by Alamosa ridden by jockey Oscar Chavez and the combination put up a great performance against Lim’s Greeting to win the ding-dong battle by a neck.

Trainer Charles Leck topped the list with a double (Order Of The Sun/ S Ruzaini, Browcow/ HK Cheng). SY Lim (Musang King/ M Ganeesh), BT Lim (Ghost Affair/ C Goon), PS Kumaran (Eastern Towkay/ F Yap),  Richard Lines (D’ Great Vulture/ CK Khaw), SB Tan (Aspen/ O Chavez), Lawson Moy (Tarzan/ Y Aify) and Malcolm Thwaites (Happy Eddington/ S Salee) saddled a winner each. Malcolm welcomed his winner with delight as it was his first for the year.
