Racing returns to the Selangor Turf Club on Sunday the 17th of May with an eleven race card on the program with Course E and Track II (+4) in operation and Navarre stands out as the top selection for the day in race 8 over 1400m.

The first of five horses trained by S Dunderdale in the field of eleven, Navarre has the credentials to make it back-to-back wins and to add his third win to his Malaysian tally. His last start was by far his most impressive win to date as he trotted up to win by over seven lengths in a Max Two Stakes when he went barrier to box uncontested. He’s the highest rated horse in this field and should be the one to beat stepping up to 1400m for the first time. The danger is Banker’s Warrior from the BT Lim stable with Farhan claiming a valuable 3kgs off the back, which could play a vital role in splitting the pair. He is unbeaten in Malaysia from two starts in the country so far – after winning a Class 4-B in his last effort by 4 lengths – and he has obvious claims but this will be his toughest task to date so far and will be tested.

The Dunderdale stable have a few runners stepping out on Sunday that could be worth following including the likes of Anjou Crown in race 5 and Good Sort in race 6. Both runners are stepping out for the first time in Malaysia after being imported from Australia with the latter having contested in G3 races in both Sydney and Melbourne as a three year-old. Both runners have trialled well in the build up to their local debuts as they begin their preparation for the Selangor Mile in two months time.

The first race is carded at 12:25pm local time.
