Trainer Frank Maynard’s D’ Great Timing proved beyond doubt a champion stayer when demolished the rivals to win the Piala Emas Sultan Selangor over the gruelling 2000m in Race 9 at Selangor Turf Club last Sunday. Well handled by jockey Jackson Low, as he tucked the six-year-old by Good Journey in midfield spot and came with a driving finish at the closing stages of the race to beat Black Thorn in a very convincing manner.
Trainer Richard Lines’s Myo remains unbeaten once again put up a tip top performance to win in the Open Class event over 1200m in Race 8. The three-year-old by Sweet Orange was well handled by budding apprentice WW Cheah who came with a great effort in the run home to beat Xena close home.
Trainer AB Abdullah’s Showar has potential to be racing in better company. The seven-year-old showcasing shot to front and thereafter was never really challenged to beat introit to win Race 11.
Trainer Simon Dunderdale Unsurpassed should develop into a top class sprinter after a pillar to post victory in Class 4 (B) event over 1200m in Race 3 last Saturday. The seven-year-old by Exceed and Excel was out in front from the start and ran on gamely to beat Ashhab.
Take a note of Buenos Aires and should be suited over a longer trip judging from the win in Class 3 over 1200m. Also trainer by Dunderdale, the six-year-old by Sebring was not sighted at the early part of the race, but moved up within striking distance when the heads turn for home and came with a pulverising run to beat Lim’s Evolution.
