With just one week to go until the G1 Piala Emas Sultan Selangor, there is certainly a lot of hype around racing fans as to who will win the final leg of the Triple Crown Series. However, we still have one Selangor meeting to get through before the final fields come out. Sunday’s meeting has eleven races on the program and the best bet for the day should come in race 5 with Elite Prince who returns to the track after a 161 day spell.

The Richard Lim trained runner has had just the four local starts for two wins and a second and brings some strong formlines to the race. His penultimate start he beat Duma by 2,5 lengths over 1200m – the same distance as this weekend – in the 3YO Sprint Championship where he also beat the likes of Yes Man; Rocky Bhai and Rocky Pegasus who if any of them were in this field, would start as a short-priced favourite. The only concern for Elite Prince would be racing fitness, but he has had a barrier trial in the build-up to this race where he was hard-held throughout the trial and won with ease. He looks set to make a winning return.

Another horse to follow on the day would be Banker’s Pretty from the BT Lim stable in race 7. She’s only had the two starts in the country for the two minor placings, but she has been far from disgraced in those efforts. Her last start she raced wide throughout from barrier 12 and was beaten 4 lengths behind Yes Man – who has now won his last three races. With that sort of form behind her from barrier 2; a 4kg claim and third run in the country, she looks like a hard horse to beat with plenty of positives in her favour.

The first race is off at 12:30pm local time with races 1-3 on Track 2; races 4-7 on the short course and the remainder of the card on the long course.
