Course C will be utilized for Saturday’s meeting with the rail out 6m for the entire circuit and the home straight cutaway will come into play for both the long and short course. No features as such on the eleven race card which contains a mixture of Class 5 and Class 4 events plus an Open Maiden.

Brazilian hoop Bernardo Pinheiro

Brazilian hoop Bernardo Pinheiro, currently licensed with the Singapore Turf Club, returns to the Malaysia circuit for the day with a booking of five rides. During his last stint in Malaysia three years ago, Pinheiro tasted success in the G1 Selangor Gold Cup in 2019 and gained a strong following when based here previously.

STAR BULLET

One of the better bets for the is a galloper which usually has his runs well spaced however, STAR BULLET will be coming off the six day back up when he steps out in the 1100m Class 4 contest (Race 6). The seven year old led and was run down over 1300m last Sunday but the drop in distance should suit the KC Tiang trained performer which has posted 2 wins from 5 local starts.

 

Ssix year old TRUDY

Penang based trainer, Sharee Hamilton has a couple of genuine chances including six year old TRUDY, who will head the weights in the other division of the 1100m Class 4. The mare can bounce back on the downgrade where she won three times at this level and has never missed a place in three runs on the Selangor circuit.

VULCAN

From the trials on Tuesday, VULCAN was in cruise mode when finishing 2nd, beaten 2 lengths behind smart mare Xena and can also atone from its recent defeat. The seven year old missed the start and cost himself any winning chance here on July 24 after leading throughout over 1200m a month prior.

 

MY MONEY

Hamilton’s other chance is last start winner, MY MONEY which caught the eye of the track watchers during the week with a strong workout on Tuesday. Due to the early cancellation of the races last Sunday, the eight year old did not run but has a chance of going back to back in the 1300m Class 5 (Race 11).
