Bold Runner looked a hard horse to beat on paper today and thankfully, reflected in running as he won in a very easy fashion by 3 1/4 lengths. Ridden to victory by Al Da Silva, who celebrated a double on the day, for trainer K Ananthen, Bold Runner now becomes a two time winner from seven local starts.

The day seemed to suit runners close to the speed and Bold Runner was right up on on pace for most of the journey. At the top of the straight he was guided to the outside of Richard Mule and went past him with ease in the final 300m and won going away. 

Another impressive winner on the day was Ototo in race 7. Under M Zaki for the Sy Lim stable, also celebrated a double today, was well back in the field midway through the turn and had to get ridden at to try and stay in touch with the field. Red Sun looked like he was going to win with an easy run in transit but started to hang to the outside. This allowed Ototo to make up the deficit and flew up on the outside despite taking a bump in the home straight.

Racing returns to the Selangor Turf Club next weekend for two meetings on Saturday the 2nd and Sunday the 3rd of August.
