RACE 8 (R1011)       CLASS 5 (A) – 1100M (C4 SHORT COURSE)

                                    BATU CAVES STAKES

The Stewards inquired into Jockey KP Lim’s  riding of BIG G in this race. Evidence was taken from Jockey KP Lim and Trainer SY Lim, the rider and trainer of BIG G respectively.

The Stewards considered the evidence tendered and also reviewed the films of BIG G. Jockey KP Lim pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the charge being that the manner in which he failed to exercise any vigour and failed to pull his horse out when in contact with MONDAY (HS Gill) over the final 150M. 

The Stewards took into consideration Jockey KP Lim’s guilty plea, riding record, mitigating factors and his submissions on penalty. Further, the Stewards considered that the contact made and maintained by MONDAY having shifted out, was a mitigating circumstance. Subsequently, he was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) months with effect from 29 August 2022 and to expire on 28 November 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal

2^ND DAY, SATURDAY, 27^TH AUGUST 2022

RACE 8 (R1003) CLASS 5(B) – 1700M 

At approximately the 250M-mark, LEEDSTHEWAY (App Z Ahmad) and APOLLO ROCK (AK Lim) became crowded and had to steady when FIRST SUCCESS (S Zulfikri) shifted in.  Thereafter, APOLLO ROCK was baulked when racing tight on the inside of BLACK TAIPAN (SU Lim).  At a subsequent Inquiry, Jockey S Zulfikri  pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) and was suspended from riding in races for two (2) Penang Race Days with effect from Sunday, 28^th August 2022 and to expire on Saturday, 24^th September 2022, both days inclusive.   He was informed of his Right of Appeal (5.35pm).
