STIPENDIARY STEWARDS’ REPORT

PENANG MAY MEETING 2022  

2ND DAY, SATURDAY, 21ST MAY 2022

RACE 2 (R611) CLASS 5(B) – 1300M, SATURDAY, 2ND DAY, 21st MAY 2022, PENANG MAY MEETING 2022 

At the conclusion of an Inquiry today at PRTC, Jockey CK Khaw, the rider of GOLDEN SHOW was found guilty to a charge for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards under MRA Rule 44(10). 

The details of the charge were that from the 300M-mark, he failed to ride with sufficient vigour and determination when his mount was running on strongly.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey CK Khaw’s record and mitigating factors.  He was suspended from riding in races for a period of four (4) months, effective Sunday, 22nd May 2022 and to expire on Wednesday, 21st September 2022, both dates inclusive.   In addition, Jockey CK Khaw was fined a sum of RM20,000/-.   He was advised of his right of appeal (11.53am).

Trainer T Asogan, the trainer of GOLDEN SHOW pleaded guilty to a charge for misconduct under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that he condoned the ride of Jockey CK Khaw on GOLDEN SHOW when the ride was clearly contentious.   Trainer T Asogan was fined a sum of RM10,000/- and was advised of his right of appeal (12.45pm).


RACE 2 (R611) CLASS 5(B) – 1300M 

At the conclusion of an Inquiry, Jockey KP Lim, the rider of DARCI SUPER, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he shifted in at approximately the 800M-mark, resulting in SATELLITE GENIUS (SU Lim) being crowded and having to check.  Jockey KP Lim was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) race days with effect from Sunday, 22nd May 2022 and to expire on Saturday, 4th June 2022, both days inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal (2.05pm).


RACE 7 (R616) CLASS 4(B) – 1400M 

 At the conclusion of an Inquiry, App AR Aiman, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, Trainer HS Lim, was shown the video of his ride on SHENG PROISIR in the concluding stages of the race.  He pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(6) for failing to ride his horse  to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards.  In deciding on the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration his relatively inexperience and his riding record.  App AR Aiman was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) month with effect from Monday, 23rd May 2022 and to expire on Wednesday, 22nd June 2022, both days inclusive.  He was advised of his Right of Appeal (5.10pm).
