The Stewards inquired into the bona fides of the body protector which App R Nuqman used to weigh-out. Evidence was taken from App R Nuqman and Trainer SY Lim, the rider and trainer of STRONG N BRAVE respectively.
App R Nuqman pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 41(4)(b) for weighing out with a body protector which was modified and consequently not approved by the Stewards. He was fined RM2000/- and advised of his Right of Appeal.

RACE 3 (R133) CLASS 5a – 1400M (A4 lc)

(R Rueven) Shifted out, bumping runner near the 425M, and then brushed near the 50M.
2 BELLA VELOCE
(Y Aify) Laid inwards from the 50M, brushing runner.

(WK Yan) Jumped awkwardly, losing ground and had to be restrained and take evasive action near the 1350M.

(S Ruzaini) Raced fiercely in the early stages and was taken wide at the 1200M.

(CK Khaw) Forced onto the running rail and checked at the 1350M.

(S Salee) Slow into stride.
9 LITTLE PONY
(App R Nuqman) Crowded near the 1350M, losing considerable ground.
10 TILSWORTH SYDNEY
(App A Najib) Shifted in passing the 1400M, tightening runners. *(See Report)
At the conclusion of an inquiry, App A Najib, the rider of TILSWORTH SYDNEY, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, F Maynard, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he shifted in passing the 1400M, tightening runners.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App A Najib’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous good riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 6 February 2023 and to expire on 12 February 2023, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

3 SUPER HERO
(App S Sia) Tended to hang out and raced wide in the middle stages.
4 MAGNITUDE
(MM Firdaus) Rider reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out fully to the end of the race.

(S Salee) Fly-jumped and veered outwards, bumping runner.

RACE 6 (R136) Class 4b – 1200M (A4 sc)

(Y Aify) Vet inspection: Lame near hind – Vet exam (2 weeks embargo)
5 HELLO BOSS
(App I Fikri) Dipped when clipping the heels of a runner near the 750M. The whip use of the Apprentice was addressed and he was referred for remedial training especially related to the use of his whip in moderation.
7 DABBLE
(S Salee) Withdrawn at 3:47pm: Became fractious after being placed in its stall and got its front leg over the partition. In light of its previous history, the gelding will be required to pass 2 Starting Stall tests before being declared to race again.
9 RUNNING SPIRIT
(HS Gill) Inclined to lay inwards in the early stages and bumped runner at the 800M. *(See Report). Vet inspection: No significant finding.
10 STORM WARNING
(App T Ammar) Vet inspection: Respiratory distress – 1000M/vet (1 month embargo).
When questioned, Jockey HS Gill advised that he wished to get cover but was unable to do so and the gelding raced greenly and laid in considerably, effectively giving up in the straight.

RACE 7 (R137) Class 3 – 1100M (A4 sc)
3 WAR DRAGON
(App I Fikri) Veered inwards at the start, crowding runner.
4 FA FA STAR
(App T Ammar) Squeezed on jumping and thereby had to be ridden midfield.
6 BE BEE
(V Espindola) Raced wide throughout. Vet inspection: Bled – Bleeder’s test (Barred 3 months).
7 HIGH WATER
(AK Lim) Shifted out at the 275M when blocked for a clear run, impeding runner. Rider reprimanded for shifting out when insufficiently clear and further was warned that he must moderate the use of his whip.
8 BRUCE ALNAUGHTY
(App M Lukman) Eased on straightening when striding onto heels.
9 EXDREAM
(CK Khaw) Had to be restrained to avoid heels at the 275M and was then inclined to lay inwards for a short distance.

(App S Sia) Threw its head, losing ground when crossed near the 850M.
