(SU Lim) Crowded on jumping, losing ground and inclined to lay inwards in the straight.
The Stewards questioned App K Pavinthran (WHITE RABBIT) and App A Suriya (TRINITY REVIVAL), in the presence of their Employing Trainer, C Leck, related to the incident after the finish. The Stewards advised both Apprentices that they were not permitted to make contact with any other rider even in a celebratory manner.

RACE 2 (R1356) CLASS 5 (b) – 1600M (C4 SHORT COURSE)

(KC Tham) Bumped at the 150M. *(See Report)
3 D’GREAT WIN
(MM Firdaus) Raced fiercely and threw its head up near the 800M. Steadied when crossed near the 200M. Shifted out, bumping runner at the 150M.
5 THE ICEMAN
(App Clyde Leck) Laid inwards from the 200M.
8 CALVADOS
(J Low) Steadied when crossed passing the 100M.
9 BALOR
(SU Lim) Dwelt when the start was effected, losing considerable ground. 1 Starting Stall test. Vet inspection: Broken winded – 2 weeks embargo.
10 ORION
(App S Shazmin) Jumped awkwardly with rider striking his left knee on the gate.
The Stewards inquired into Jockey KC Tham’s riding of CHIEF CLERK in this race.
After considering the evidence from Jockey KC Tham and also reviewing the performance of CHIEF CLERK, the Stewards found Jockey KC Tham guilty of a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the charge being that whilst riding CHIEF CLERK between the 700M and the 550M mark when on the inside of the horse THE ICEMAN, he restrained his mount unduly to be in a position whereby he lost ground.
The Stewards took into consideration Jockey KC Tham’s riding record, mitigating factors and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) month with effect from 21 November 2022 and to expire on 20 December 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal (6:40pm).

RACE 3 (R1357) CLASS 5 (a) – 1400M (C4 SHORT COURSE)

(R Rueven) Shifted out on straightening, bumping runner. Drifted in over the final 150M causing runner to steady. Rider reprimanded related to both incidents.

(App I Fikri) Brushed the running rail near the 800M, losing ground.
8 METAGROSS
(App S Shazmin) Slow to begin.
9 D’GREAT RISE
(S Ruzaini) Carried wide and then bumped on straightening. Eased down in the straight. Rider reported that the mare slipped on straightening. Vet Inspection: No significant finding.

RACE 4 (R1358) CLASS 5 (a) – 1400M (C4 SHORT COURSE)
1 LAGO DE COMO
(J Low) Inconvenienced at the start when horse shifted out and was inclined to hang outwards thereafter.
2 OBSIDIAN
(App Clyde Leck) Inclined to lay inwards near the 200M.
5 NOVA FACTOR
(S Ruzaini) Veered outwards on jumping.
6 EL MACHO
(MM Firdaus) Over-raced in the middle stages.
8 KNIGHT COMMAND
(KC Tham) Raced wide throughout.

(App I Fikri) Near the 300M, rider got his rein entangled in the horse’s mane.

RACE 7 (R1361) SUPREME A – 1400M (C4 LONG COURSE)

(SU Lim) Carried inwards at the 1100M and had to be restrained. Shifted outwards to avoid heels near the 900M and buffeted heavily with runner.

(J Low) Raced wide in the middle stages. Vet inspection: No significant finding.
3 GINGERELLA
(App I Fikri) Shifted in after passing the 1200M, crowding numerous runners. *(See Report)
5 SKYDANCE ECLIPSE
(R Rueven) After being slow to begin, showed no early pace and then hung outwards in the straight, brushing runner near the 275M.
6 BLACK THORN
(KC Tham) Brushed at the 275M.
7 ECLIPSE SPLASH
(Y Aify) Laid in at the 900M, bumping runner. Rider warned to straighten more readily. Vet Inspection: Lame near fore – Vet exam (2 weeks embargo)
8 EYE GUY
(App M Lukman) Crowded near the 900M between runners. Rider was stood down by the Club Doctor after the running of this race.
At the conclusion of an inquiry, App I Fikri, the rider of GINGERELLA, in the presence of his Employing Trainer’s representative, Trainer MW Teh, pleaded guilty to a charge of reckless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(i) in that he shifted in at this stage.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App I Fikri’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record, his submissions on penalty and the severity of the incident. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) month with effect from 21 November 2022 and to expire on 20 December 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal (4:18pm).

(S Salee) Raced wide in the middle stages.
6 MAGNUM KING
(App A Suriya) Tightened at the start, hind-quarters unbalanced and then raced wide. Vet inspection: Bruised both fore legs and both hind feet, and cast both fore & off hind plates – Vet exam (1 week embargo)
7 FLYING BABY
(S Ruzaini) Struck the outside gate on jumping and was then crowded shortly after the start, becoming unbalanced. *(See Report).
9 BELLA VELOCE
(SU Lim) Tightened from the outside and had to be restrained at the start.
10 READY TO SEVENLUCK (App S Sia) Jumped awkwardly with rider striking the left stirrup on the gate.
The Stewards questioned Jockey S Ruzaini (FLYING BABY) as to his change of riding style in the concluding stages. He advised that after striking the stalls on jumping, he had tired somewhat, in attempting to ride the gelding out. Further, that FLYING BABY was tiring and was not responding to his urging.
In accepting this explanation, the Stewards advised Jockey S Ruzaini that he must ride in a positive and consistent fashion, and further that he ought to moderate the use of his whip particularly related to being bordering on forward of the shoulder.

RACE 11 (R1365) CLASS 5 (a) – 2000M (C4 LONG COURSE)
This race was rescheduled to start at 6:05pm due to regional schedule.
As Jockey KC Tham was stood down by the Club Doctor and due to the unavailability of other suitable rider, the Stewards granted permission for App R Nuqman to ride SILVER JOY at 1 1/2kgs overweight.
6 VALUE OF JUSTICE
(SU Lim) Rider fined RM1000/- for excessive use of the whip.
8 LIM’S MASTER
(App S Sia) Rider dropped whip at the 200M and fined RM250/-
