When questioned regarding the performance of BLACK TAIPAN, Jockey SU Lim advised that the gelding had shown no early pace and had failed to run on in the straight. Trainer HY Cheng stated that BLACK TAIPAN had poor form before joining his stable and he had not trialled the gelding as it had some clinical issues. Trainer HY Cheng was advised that in light of its performance, the gelding will be required to pass a 1000M/vet test before being declared to race again.
Trainer S Siva was questioned as to the performance of JJ STAR. He stated that it had never shown any pace and was always ridden in a rearward manner. He was of the opinion that the gelding had been affected by laying in slightly and had been straightened near the 200M.

RACE 4 (R839) CLASS 4 (B) – 1300M (A LONG COURSE)
1 STEEL CUTTER
(App K Pavinthran) Struck the rail at the 1050M when severely tightened.
4 CLARTON TREASURE
(SU Lim) Crowded, losing ground near the 1050M.
5 COSMIC SANDS
(S Salee) Bumped from outside at the start.
6 BAD BOYZ
(App I Fikri) Became unbalanced when buffeting with other runner near the 1050M. *(See inquiry)
8 BIG KING
(App R Nuqman) Raced wide throughout. Raced erratically in the straight, shifted in significantly, having to be straightened.
10 BIG BAD MAMA
(AK Lim) Veered inwards at the start, bumping runner. Pulled hard in the early stages and shifted in near the 1100M.
On inquiry, the Stewards established that BAD BOYZ shifted inwards when crowded slightly by BIG BAD MAMA when that horse crossed. BAD BOYZ then became unbalanced when making contact with CLARTON TREASURE on its inside and crowded STEEL CUTTER which struck the rail. The Stewards considered this incident to be a racing incident, however, advised App I Fikri, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, L Moy, that he must ensure he gives correct and concise evidence when questioned.

(App S Shazmin) Drifted out over the concluding stages, taking runner near the 60M. Rider suspended. *(See Report).

(L De Souza) Tended to lay inwards near the 150M and was brushed and carried outwards near the 50M.

(Y Aify) Raced wide outside the leader in the middle stages.
11 ELITE REMARKABLE
(App M Ekdihar) Ridden wide in the middle stages. Reins became entangled with the mane near the 200M. [Deleted - No Test Imposed]
An objection was lodged by Jockey L De Souza (FLYING DURUMI), placed second, against THUNDER DRAGON (App S Shazmin) being declared the winner, alleging interference over the final 100M. The Panel of Stewards overruled the objection.
At the conclusion of an inquiry, App S Shazmin, the rider of THUNDER DRAGON, in the presence of his Employing Trainer’s representative, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he failed to correct his mount when it shifted.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App S Shazmin’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Selangor race days with effect from 18 July 2022 and to expire on 14 August 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

10 TRINITY GENERAL

At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey Y Aify, the rider of NO FUN NO GAIN, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he shifted in at the 250M, checking LIMITLESS STOUT.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey Y Aify’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) Malaysian race days, to be deferred, with effect from 25 July 2022 and to expire on 7 August 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
Jockey Y Aify (NO FUN NO GAIN) subsequently exercised his Right of Appeal and applied for a Stay of Sentence. The Panel of Stewards considered the application for a stay which was granted. The appeal hearing against the penalty of the suspension of three (3) Malaysian race days will be held at a date to be fixed.

Jockey KP Lim (STAR BULLET) was questioned as to why he had not led. He stated that he had intended to lead, however, the pace was very fast from his outside and he had subsequently elected to follow the pace rather than challenge for it. A post-race veterinary examination of STAR BULLET revealed it was lame off fore and returned having cast its off fore plate. The gelding will be required to undergo a veterinary examination (3 weeks embargo) before being declared to race again.
At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey SU Lim, the rider of NINGALOO, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he shifted out near the 200M, causing STAR BULLET to check at the 175M.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey SU Lim’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 18 July 2022 and to expire on 24 July 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

RACE 9 (R844) CLASS 4 (B) – 1100M (A SHORT COURSE)

(KP Lim) Fractious in the stalls after being loaded. When the start was effected, reared with rider being dislodged. The Stewards viewed the patrol film prior to the “All Clear” and declared CHAR KWAY TEOW a definite starter. 1 Starting Stall test.
