(J Daniel) Shifted in sharply near the 1100M, crowding KUBERA’S CHIEF and FLAMING PHOENIX, causing both horses to check severely. Rider suspended.

The Stewards inquired into an interference of KUBERA’S CHIEF and FLAMING PHOENIX near the 1100M. On inquiry, Jockey J Daniel, the rider of MORE THAN OIL, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) for shifting in erratically at this stage.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey J Daniel’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of four (4) Malaysian race days with effect from 24 January 2022 and to expire on 6 February 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

(App AB Riduan) Stumbled badly on jumping and veered inwards, colliding with MAINSTREAM. Returned having cast its off fore and near hind plates.

(WK Lee) Threw its head shortly after the start. Inquiry will be conducted into Jockey WK Lee’s riding of the gelding at a date to be fixed.

The Stewards, on 25 January 2022 (Tuesday), inquired into Jockey WK Lee’s riding of BOOM ALMIGHTY in the above race. Evidence was taken from Jockey WK Lee and Trainer R Lines, the rider and trainer of BOOM ALMIGHTY respectively.
After considering the evidence and reviewing the performance of BOOM ALMIGHTY, the Stewards found Jockey WK Lee guilty of a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the charge being that in the opinion of the Stewards, he failed to ride BOOM ALMIGHTY with sufficient vigour and purpose over the concluding 150M.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey WK Lim’s riding record, mitigating factors, his submissions on penalty and mitigating points as put forward by Trainer R Lines. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) months with effect from 26 January 2022 and to expire on 25 March 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
