Promising four-year-old DUMA appears on track for a winning return in Saturday’s Class 2 contest over 1600m at Kuala Lumpur.

The Frank Maynard-trained gelding is coming off an eye-catching performance in the 4YO Sprint Championship a fortnight ago, when he stormed home from last at the 400m mark in a 14-horse field. Weaving his way between runners in the straight, DUMA finished a creditable fourth, beaten just three lengths in the RM200,000 feature.

DUMA has already secured his place in the RM1 million Selangor Mile, to be run in two weeks, which shapes as his main target this campaign. Although he is yet to win over the mile from two attempts, the son of Too Darn Hot looks primed to make a bold bid this weekend.
