The Selangor racing community has reinforced its pursuit of international-caliber competition following a triumphant showing at the renowned Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale on 22nd May 2026.

Demonstrating strong confidence in the excellence of Irish-bred thoroughbreds, Selangor-based owners and trainers secured nine promising juveniles. Guided by leading industry figures, this acquisition reflects a strategic commitment to strengthening both the competitiveness and prestige of the Selangor racing circuit.
The active participation of Selangor Turf Club leadership at the sale further emphasized the Club’s dedication to cultivating international partnerships and advancing global standards to drive the growth of Malaysia’s racing industry.
Prior to the sale, on 12th April 2026, Her Excellency Orla Tunney, Ambassador of Ireland to Malaysia, visited the Club to witness the running of the Tattersalls Ireland Breeze-Up Sale Trophy. Her Excellency was accompanied by Mr Andrew Kelly from the International Representative of Irish Thoroughbred Marketing. The Ambassador witnessed an Irish-galloper, Jinling Starblitz (formerly known as No Such Thing in Ireland) cruised home to claim victory by three-quarters of a length. Jinling Starblitz was owned by Royal Apex Stable, trained by CW Choi and ridden by Jockey R Woodworth.

Jinling Starblitz was presented with an IRE Incentive Scheme of Euro10,000 for future purchase at sales and auctions conducted by Irish Thoroughbred Marketing. The scheme is funded by Horse Racing Ireland and managed by Irish Thoroughbred Marketing.
“Our owners and trainers have shown remarkable passion and foresight.
