Yes Man is heading to the 4YO Sprint Championship on Jun 28 with confidence after a convincing win in the Metro A – 1200m sprint at Sungai Besi today.

The son of Yes Yes Yes picking up eight wins since making his debut in late 2024 so trainer Tiang Kim Choi thought he deserved a crack at the RM300,000 Tunku Gold Cup (1200m) in March.

Yes Man set the pace as he liked to do but ran out of steam in the home straight to finish seventh to Fortune Tree.

Back in action after a short let-up and with Jose De Souza partnering him for the first time, there was no holding back Yes Man.

After jumping in midfield, De Souza sent him to the front after 200m and there was no catching him after that.

Yes Man won by 1-1/2 lengths with Banker’s First flashing home between runners to take second placing. Third was Pacific Energy who also finished third in the Tunku Gold Cup, so it’s a good measure as to just how much Yes Man has improved since his last run.

“Firstly, I am glad to get back on this owner’s (Yee Kin Kong) horses. I did ride a lot for him previously and I really appreciate that,” said De Souza,

“The horse jumped well and I managed to get in front. After that I eased back to give him a breather round the bend and he relaxed.

“At the top of straight he picked up really well.”

“He (Yes Man) won impressively today,” said Tiang.

“His main target is the 4YO Sprint Championship in June. But I may give him a warm-up run before that.”
