Jinling Starblitz outshines his rivals

Irish import Jinling Starblitz made it two wins from two starts in the country with a polished performance in the Open Maiden event over 1400m at Sungai Besi today.
The Inns Of Court galloper was still erractic when defeating Aquitaine in a similar race over 1250m on debut three weeks ago.
Ridden one again Benny Woodworth, the four-year-old raced more generously this time.
Jinling Starblitz was among the firsts to break in the set-weight event which saw Winning Done taking the early lead from Solidasarock and Mega Grandeur. Woodworth settled Jinling Starblitz in fourth spot.
Solidasarock took over the lead from Winning Done at the 1000m with Jinling Starblitz moving easily effortlessly up to third.

Solidasarock led into the straight with Jinling Starblitz, Winning Done and Pacific Fighter forming a line of three just on his outside, half a length away.
The four horses fought it out in a line from the 400m, with Jinling Starblitz taking a narrow lead at the 300m. He pulled away to a clear lead 100m out saw off the late challenge of Pacific Fighter to win by 3/4-length. Solidasarock held on for third.
Jinling Starblitz raced as No Such Thing in Ireland. He was consistent but failed to make any breakthrough.
Placed in one of two runs at two, he had five more placings from eight outings at three.
“He (Jinling Starblitz) jumped well and was a bit keen in the back straight but eventually settled down and travelled well,” said Woodworth.

“We were taken wide at the home turn but he fought on well all the way in the straight. It was good win.”
“He has improved since his debut win,” said trainer Ricky Choi.
“He raced more generously this time and has a lot more room for improvement.”
