LUCKY EIGHT ONE CAN DELIVER AGAIN

Six-year-old galloper LUCKY EIGHT ONE is coming off an impressive victory on his Malaysian debut a month ago and looks on track for further success in the 1200m Sogo Kuala Lumpur Stakes at the Selangor meeting on Saturday.

Previously campaigned in Hong Kong, he endured an unsuccessful stint with eleven unplaced runs before joining the local stable of Cheng Han Yong. The gelding made an immediate impact on debut for his new yard, starting a short-priced favourite and leading throughout to score by 1.5 lengths over 1200m on March 28.

A three-time winner during his three- and four-year-old campaigns in Australia, the son of Spieth appears to have rediscovered that vein of form.

MEGA TO REBOUND WITH AN ACE

Despite his failure in the G1 Tunku Gold Cup last start, promising galloper MEGA ACE will be seeking immediate redemption in the 1020m Sunway Pyramid Mall Stakes on Saturday.

The gelding yielded ground after racing on speed in the group feature last start when casting a plate during the run so there were genuine excuses for the three year old.

Posting four wins from seven Malaysian starts, MEGA ACE has progressed rapidly through the grades and looks well placed returning to Class 3 company.

MEGA ACE should utilize his early pace from barrier eight (after the scratching) and will be hard to run down if he finds an easy lead.
