Gear Up for the Second Edition of CHP
KUALA LUMPUR : Feb 13, 2026
Riding on the success of Malaysia’s first-ever digital horse auction last month, the second edition of the Community Horse Project (CHP) is ready to launch. The 2-Year-Old Online Sale will run from 23rd February to 27th February 2026.
The Community Horse Project is a joint initiative by the Selangor Turf Club and Horse City Sdn Bhd designed to ensure the long-term, healthy growth of the horse population in Malaysia. It offers a self-sustaining ecosystem for horse ownership that is accessible, rewarding, and affordable.
The CHP focuses on connecting racing enthusiasts with quality young horses and establishing a clear ownership pathway for both new and existing owners. By bringing the market to Malaysia, owners no longer need to travel overseas into unfamiliar auction environments. Consequently, the CHP plays a vital role in helping owners and trainers source new stock for racing.
For the upcoming online sale, a total of 24 quality two-year-olds from leading international auction houses have been sourced. Each horse has been carefully vetted for health and performance—including comprehensive X-rays and pre-purchase examinations—to ensure only the finest prospects enter the racing field.
To enhance ownership returns, the Selangor Turf Club will host a dedicated series of races exclusively for CHP horses between 1st August 2026 and 31st July 2027, featuring a prize pool of approximately RM1.6 million.
Additionally, CHP horses will benefit from a four-month REF exemption starting from their first race and are eligible to compete in all MRA events, including Malaysia’s most prestigious races. This provides owners with an exceptional platform to showcase their horses and maximize their racing potential.
Join the Open Viewing Day
The Open Viewing Day will be held at the Equestrian Arena, Selangor Turf Club on 23rd February 2026, where owners will have the opportunity to inspect the horses in person.
