Malaysia’s 2026 racing season is off to an encouraging start with the arrival of the first batch of imported horses, featuring a balanced blend of seasoned campaigners, progressive three‑ and four‑year‑olds, and an exciting line‑up of well‑bred juveniles. The new intake reflects a continued commitment by owners and trainers to elevate the quality and competitiveness of Malaysian racing.
Among the arrivals are two experienced six‑year‑olds, WE CAN PARTY (Proisir – All Can Party) and MAGIC HALLOW (Hallowed Crown – Emma Kate), both expected to add depth to the middle‑distance and mile divisions. WE CAN PARTY joins the yard of HY Cheng, while MAGIC HALLOW arrives with solid Australian form and will be closely watched as he acclimatises to local conditions.
The three‑year‑old division receives a notable boost with four well‑credentialed youngsters:
• GLACIER AWARD (Shamus Award – Marveen), a filly with a strong Australian pedigree
• BASTION (Bivouac – Solid Foundation), a gelding by one of Australia’s most exciting young sires
• IMAGINATE (Written Tycoon – Time Is Precious), joining WC Lim
• SHARE TRADER (Overshare – Another Rosie), to be prepared by BT Lim
These horses bring a mix of speed, precocity, and developmental upside, offering trainers ample scope to shape them into competitive performers for the 2026 season and beyond.
The four‑year‑old ranks are strengthened by HARDPOINT (Raise The Flag – Holy Flame), now under SY Lim, and LET’S TROT (Reward For Effort – Lady Phoebe), who joins R Lim. Both horses arrive at an ideal age to make an immediate impact, particularly in the staying and sprint‑miler categories respectively.
Rounding off the shipment is a compelling group of six two‑year‑olds, all unnamed and representing some of the most commercially sought‑after sires in the region. These include progeny of Hanseatic, King’s Legacy, Cool Aza Beel, Portland Sky, and Yes Yes Yes. Their dams — such as Volcanic Eruption, Dream First, Someone Like You, Jeanneau, Moreau, and Enuff Effort — add further depth to their pedigrees. All of the juveniles will be trained by S. Dunderdale.
This first batch signals a positive start to the year, with owners demonstrating continued confidence in the Malaysian racing industry. As these horses settle into their new environments, anticipation builds for their debut performances and the fresh narratives they will bring to the 2026 season.
