Stopped quickly in the straight. Rider reported his horse was making respiratory noises and was short in its action. Vet inspection: No significant finding. In light of its performance, FANTASTIC ECLIPSE which finished last, will be required to pass a 1000M/vet test before being declared to race again for having poor performance.

Threw its head on jumping, striking rider in the middle.

SMALL CHILLI

Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Rider dropped his whip near the 250M and fined RM250/-.

Jockey S Salee (CAORUNN) stated that although urged from the start, the gelding had been unable to maintain contact with the field and that it only made some marginal ground in the straight. He also stated that the gelding was short in its action. A post-race veterinary examination of CAORUNN revealed no significant finding. In light of its performance, CAORUNN will be required to pass a 1000M/vet test before being declared to race again for having poor performance.

TAIL SPIN

Slow into stride. From its outside barrier, was unable to secure a position in the field and was ridden at the rear.

When questioned, Trainer S Hamilton stated that she was of the opinion that MY MONEY

had not performed well as it had been ridden somewhat contrary to her instructions by being pushed forward as the gelding was better suited when working into the race as at its previous starts and wins. A post-race veterinary examination of MY MONEY revealed no significant finding.

Eased outwards near the 250M to avoid heels, brushing runner, then shifted in considerably between the 200M and the 100M, crowding runner.  Rider was advised that he should endeavour to straighten his mount quicker.

Crowded and had to be steadied near the 125M, shying from the whip of the opponent at this stage.

Taken outwards and had to be restrained near the 250M and then bumped heavily with runner.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey SU Lim, the rider of ELITE WATERGHOST, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) for shifting out at this stage.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey SU Lim’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 17 October 2022 and to expire on 23 October 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal (6:18pm).
