Trainer Simon Dunderdale’s Nova Spirit (no. 9) looked very fit in a light workout at Selangor Turf Club this morning. Taken out by a track rider, the seven-year-old by Congrats did a trot and then a very strong canter looking a picture of fitness. Last outing, Nova Spirit ran a smack up second to Weather Man over 1200m at this course last month. Jockey S Ruzaini has been elected to ride Nova Spirit and the pair holds a strong chance to win in a Class 5 (A) event over 1600m in Race 9 on Saturday.

RACE 2: Venus De Milo did a canter and then took it lightly with pace work.
RACE 7: D’Great Rise was given a canter on the first lap and then was hard held to do pace work.

Sun – 2 Aug

Trainer SY Lim’s last start winner, Be Safe is still maintaining form in a light exercise this morning. Taken out by a track rider, the six-year-old by Court Command was given two rounds trot looking very fit. Last start, Be Safe came with a gallant run at the closing stages of the race to beat Aragorn in a Class 3 event over 1200m in February this year at this course. Jockey J Daniel takes the ride on Be Safe and should be reckoned with a chance to score a back-to-back victory in Supreme A event over 1200m in Race 6 on Sunday.

RACE 7: Distinctive Darci did a canter and then took it easy with pace work.
RACE 8: Cerdan did Two rounds canter.
The going was good. All workouts were done the sand track.
