Trainer HY Cheng’s last start winner, Shanghai Nights (no.2), will be the choice of racing fans to win the Metro A event over 1700m in Race 7. The five-year-old by Ferlax last outing came with a well-timed run along the rails to beat Sahm over 1400m last month. Reverting to over a longer trip, Shanghai Nights will be ridden by Jackson Low this time for another winning success.
Last start winner, Metier Star, should score a back-to-back victory in Supreme A event over 1200m in Race 6. Trained by Richard Lines, the eight-year-old by Stryker last outing put up a brilliant performance when flashed home to beat Radical Force over 1300m last month. Once again, Apprentice L De Souza has been assigned to ride Metier Star and will be hard to beat.
Trainer SY Lim’s Buffalo Soldier should have another easy victory in Class 4 (A) event over 1800m in Race 10. The seven-year-old by Battle Paint last outing made a pillar to post affair beating Heart Feeling in a convincing manner. Jockey Calvin Goon takes the ride on Buffalo Soldier and the pair should greet the judges again.
Fairdeal Stable’s Distinctive Darci looks formidable to capture the inaugural running of the Ninentyfive Resources Sprint Cup over 1200m in Race 5. Richard Lines trained seven-year-old by Darci Brahma has been working very well in the morning workouts. Last outing, Distinctive Darci finished a very close second to Eclipse Splash over 1100m last month. Top Apprentice, L De Souza, takes the rein on Distinctive Darci and should give a tip top performance this time out.
