(App Z Syafifie) Slow to begin. Awkwardly placed on heels shortly after the start. Switched out for a clear run at the 400M. Jockey warned regarding consistency of running.

(CK Khaw) Had to ease off heels on a number of occasions when racing fiercely in the early and middle stages.
11 LITTLE PONY
(R Shafiq) Tightened for galloping room shortly after the start. Raced wide throughout.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey A Suriya, the rider of NEVER ASK MORE, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to LITTLE PONY, LUCKY WARRIOR and ROAD OF TIGER.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey A Suriya’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) Malaysian race day with effect from 17 February 2025 and to expire on 22 February 2025, both dates inclusive. In lieu of one (1) Malaysian race day, he was also fined RM1,500/-. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

ROCKY PEGASUS which was hanging in in the straight, was carried out by INFINITY VICTORY which was directed out from the 400M. Thereafter in the concluding stages, INFINITY VICTORY was carried in by ROCKY PEGASUS which shifted in away from the whip from the 250M.
A race review was called into this incident, which was followed by an objection being lodged by Trainer S Dunderdale, the Trainer of INFINITY VICTORY (CK Khaw), placed second, against the winner, ROCKY PEGASUS (Y Aify) on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages.
After considering the evidence in this matter, the Board overruled the objection as it could not be satisfied that but for the above incident, INFINITY VICTORY would not have finished ahead of ROCKY PEGASUS.

RACE 6 (R0106) CLASS 3 – 1400M (LC A6)

3 EMERALD LISI
(R Nuqman) Hung in in the straight and shifted in away from the whip at the 350M.
4 PLATINUM ROYALE
(R Iskandar) Raced fiercely in the middle stages, had to be restrained off heels. Thereafter, shifted out away from heels and clipped heels at the 900M and raced wide. Jockey was dislodged shortly after the finish, medically indisposed. Vet inspection: No significant finding. Poor performance – 1000M/Vet.

App PH Seow appeared before the Panel and was questioned regarding the tactics adopted on PACIFIC ATLANTIC. In this regard, she explained that it was her intention to obtain cover, however after jumping well, PACIFIC ATLANTIC had found a good position and became keen in the race which was run at a slower pace than she had anticipated. Consequently, she elected to allow this gelding to lead rather than to restrain for cover as, this in her opinion, would be the least prejudicial to PACIFIC ATLANTIC. The Panel noted her explanation. Trainer D Kok appeared before the Panel and confirmed App PH Seow’s statements relating to this gelding.

After the running of this race, a severe thunderstorm moved in overhead and decision was taken to abandon the remainder of the races today.
