(App H Haikal) Threw its head up at the start, losing considerable ground. In this incident, Apprentice was struck in the face. In light of this, the gelding will be required to pass 1 Starting Stall test before being declared to race again. Raced fiercely, tending to lay outwards at the turn near the 950M.

3 GENERAL CHENG
(App R Nuqman) Raced wide in the middle stages.
4 LIM’S TORPEDO
(CK Khaw) Turned its head when the start was effected, putting his nose in the adjoining stall, then jumped awkwardly, losing considerable ground. 1 Starting Stall.
6 VK BOY
(AK Lim) Had to be taken outwards near the 250M in order to obtain a clear run. Vet inspection: Laceration on the near fore arm – Vet exam.
When presented in the paddock, it was ascertained that the surcingle of I’M THE MAN (V Espindola) was omitted from the horse’s equipment albeit that the rider had weighed out with all his gear. However, this was quickly rectified. Trainer HY Cheng was fined RM500/- under MRA Rule 35(1) for failing to ensure that I’M THE MAN was properly equipped.

RACE 3 (R488) CLASS 5a – 1600M (A4 lc)
An objection was lodged by Trainer WC Lim, the Trainer of TIN’S MACHINE (App M Lukman), placed second, against KHAN PEGASUS (Y Aify), being declared the winner, alleging interference over the final 200M. The Panel of Stewards dismissed the objection.
An objection was lodged by Trainer S Hamilton, the Trainer of SILVER JOY (MM Firdaus), placed fourth, against TIN’S MACHINE (App M Lukman), placed second alleging interference at about the 200M. The Panel of Stewards dismissed the objection.

(AK Lim) Slow to begin.
App K Pavinthran, the rider of ARTEMISIA OF CARIA, was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to utilize his claim fully.
At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey Y Aify, the rider of KHAN PEGASUS, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he allowed KHAN PEGASUS to shift in and tighten TIN’S MACHINE which restrained onto SILVER JOY which checked.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey Y Aify’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days, with effect from 8 May 2023 and to expire on 14 May 2023, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

(App WW Cheah) Had to be steadied when attempting a marginal run near the 300M.

(App R Nuqman) Slow into stride.
9 MELTING POINT
(App A Najib) Was leaning on the side of the stall when the start was effected, thereby losing considerable ground. Thereafter raced fiercely in the middle stages and was taken wide.

RACE 5 (R490) CLASS 4b – 1200M (A4 sc)
1 MAHA PEGASUS
(Y Aify) Slow into stride. Took the turn into the straight wide.
2 TOP GUN
(App T Ammar) From its outside barrier, was obliged to race wide throughout.
3 HOWL
(J Low) Taken outwards passing the 250M, making contract with runners. Rider warned that he must exercise greater caution when shifting ground.
7 NICATOR
(CK Khaw) Jumped awkwardly and was thereafter slow into stride, showing no early pace.
8 GLOBAL ARMY
(App K Pavinthran) Raced wide in the early stages.
10 SHENG PROISIR
