(App A Najib) Fractious prior to the start and jumped awkwardly, losing considerable ground. In light of this, the gelding will be required to pass 1 Starting Stall test before being declared to race again. Drifted wide in the straight.

(App R Nuqman) After racing wide, shifted in quickly at the 200M. Vet inspection: Bled – Bleeder’s test (Barred 3 months)
6 STEEL CUTTER
(KC Tham) Shifted in with runner clipping its heels at the 1000M. Rider’s whip became entangle in the mane over the final 100M.
8 BELLA VELOCE
(HS Gill) Commenced to race fiercely and when being restrained off the heels of runner near the 950M, was taken outwards, thereafter racing wide.
10 FLYING BABY
(MM Firdaus) When racing fiercely at the 1000M, clipped the heels and restrained.

RACE 4 (R300) CLASS 4b – 1300M (A lc)
1 PASIR PINJI
(App T Ammar) Shifted out, brushing runner near the 275M.
2 OISIN EXPRESS
(L De Souza) Brushed at the 275M when laying inwards slightly and then had to be restrained to avoid heels when squeezed between runners at the 100M. *(See Report)

(MM Firdaus) Shifted out, bumping and crowding runner at the 100M.
8 SMOOTH OPERATOR
(App R Nuqman) Vet inspection: No significant finding.
10 ARIF
(R Rueven) Laid inwards, squeezing runner at the 100M.
The Stewards considered an incident near the 100M where TAUBOSS shifted out at the same time as ARIF rolled inwards. OISIN EXPRESS which was racing between these horses, was crowded for room and had to be restrained to avoid the heels of TAUBOSS. Jockey MM Firdaus was warned that he must straighten his mounts quicker.

RACE 5 (R301) Combined Classes 3 & 4 – 1600M (A lc)
3 MAT SMART
(App M Lukman) Raced erratically near the 1000M.
4 TELLER
(App R Nuqman) When racing fiercely at the 900M, pulled up on the inside of runner and had to be restrained when racing on the fence.
5 GOLDEN FLAME
(V Espindola) Held tight near the 1000M and shifted out marginally, bumping the hind-quarters of runner.
8 SHOW HAND
(App I Fikri) Bumped the running rail at the 1100M. Vet inspection: Cut near fore pastern – Vet exam.
9 FLAMING PHOENIX
(J Low) Restrained from heels near the 1200M and was then bumped when continuing to race fiercely near the 1000M, thereafter being obliged to race wide.

(App S Shazmin) Stumbled on jumping. Crowded badly from the outside and became unbalanced near the 800M. *(See Report)
6 FANTASTIC ECLIPSE
(App A Nazir) Shifted inwards at the 800M, crowding 2 runners. *(See Report)

(HK Cheng) Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout.
On inquiry, App A Nazir (FANTASTIC ECLIPSE), in the presence of his Employing Trainer, F Maynard, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) for shifting in near the 800M, crowding GENERATION M which in turn tightened ACE’S WILD causing that horse to be buffeted and lose ground.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App A Nazir’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 20 March 2023 and to expire on 26 March 2023, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
