RACE 1 (R404) CLASS 5 – 1200M (SHORT COURSE A)

EAGLE SOAR (App L De Souza) jumped awkwardly outwards which caused FOX TREASURE (J De Souza) to be crowded between EAGLE SOAR and WILL BE BETTER (App AK Lim). EAGLE SOAR continued to lay outwards shortly after the jump and bumped with WILL BE BETTER which rolled inwards.
ACME (S Ruzaini) jumped outwards and lost ground in the early stages as a consequence.
UNION JAC (HS Gill) laid inwards in the early stages causing DEE MAJULAH (S Ipek) to be slightly crowded.
Approaching the 1000M, EAGLE SOAR was crowded on the inside of WILL BE BETTER and DEE MAJULAH, and brushed against the rails.
LONESOME ME (SU Lim) dipped at about the 1000M.
ALIEN (App KC Wong) was held up for clear running between the 400M and the 350M.
At about the 300M, FOX TREASURE laid outwards and brushed ENDURANCE (App CK Khaw) which became briefly unbalanced. Thereafter, FOX TREASURE continued to lay outwards under pressure causing the rider to ease and correct in the last 100M when well beaten.
At about the 200M, LONESOME ME (SU Lim) was disappointed for a run on the heels of FOX TREASURE and lost momentum as a consequence.

Race 2 (R405) CLASS 5 – 1200M (SHORT COURSE A)
WINGED FOOT (App KC Wong) and MR EPIC (App CK Khaw) were both slow to begin.
At about the 300M, SATURDAY’S DELIGHT (App WK Lee) was crowded between CHARLIES MISSILE (App AK Lim) and AUSSIE EAGLE (F Yap), and became unbalanced when AUSSIE EAGLE shifted in and brushed him. App WK Lee reported that at this point, his saddle slipped backwards and he was unable to ride out the gelding with full vigour as a consequence.
WINGED FOOT was shifted inwards to obtain clear running approaching the 200M.

Race 3 (R406) CLASS 4 – 1200M (SHORT COURSE A)
Acting on veterinary advice that BULLISH LUCK (App S Uzair) was lame off fore, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the gelding at 1:17pm. The gelding will be required to pass a 1000M/Vet test before being declared to race again.
BOOSTER (J De Souza) jumped sharply inwards, bumping ITS ONLY MONEY (App CK Khaw) inwards onto BEAUTIFUL BABY (SU Lim) which was also taken inwards.
GOOD DEAL (M Ganeesh) was forced to check to avoid the heels of BEAUTIFUL BABY.
GOOD DEAL (M Ganeesh), which suffered early interference, raced in rear throughout before making late progress. When questioned, Jockey M Ganeesh stated that GOOD DEAL had struggled to go with the early pace. He added that the gelding responded well to pressure in the straight, but by that stage the race had already got away from him. He further stated that GOOD DEAL is better suited by a longer distance than today’s 1200M race. Trainer SB Tan confirmed this when questioned.
Jockey M Ganeesh also reported that he was mindful of GOOD DEAL’s previous start in which it had begun slowly as per its normal racing pattern, and after being urged to close on the field, had finished the race disappointingly.
The Stewards noted that the first 600M of today’s race had been particularly slowly run and therefore it would likely have advantaged GOOD DEAL to race closer to the pace. They warned Jockey M Ganeesh to show better judgement of pace and greater initiative when riding GOOD DEAL in future in order to give the horse the best chance of achieving the best possible placing. A post-race veterinary examination of GOOD DEAL revealed no significant finding.

Race 4 (R407) CLASS 4 – 1200M (SHORT COURSE A)
The State of Track was upgraded to “Good” after the running of this race.
D’GREAT LEGEND (App KC Wong) laid outwards on jumping and bumped STREET OF LONDON (App W Faizal) which was crowded on the inside of CONDADO (App CK Khaw) and lost its position.
LORD OF SHANGHAI (Y Aify) was slow to begin.
SOUTHERN HUSSLER (Z Khairil) raced keenly under restraint between the start and the 1000M.
Approaching the 200M, SOUTHER HUSSLER commenced to lay inwards causing the jockey to ease and correct just inside the 200M.
Jockey HS Gill, the rider of SEGAR THE BEST, reported that his horse was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of SEGAR THE BEST revealed that it was lame off fore and as such will be required to pass a 1000M/Vet test before being declared to race again.

Race 5 (R408) MAIDEN – 1400M (SHORT COURSE A)
CONFOUND (J De Souza) was slow to begin and had to be urged to obtain a forward position.
In the early stages, D’GREAT ELEGANCE (App CK Khaw) and KING ROULETTE (App L De Souza) brushed on several occasions. Both horses became unbalanced, causing D’GREAT ELEGANCE to brush with SILVER MAN (S Ruzaini) on the outside and KING ROULETTE to brush with SEMIFREDDO (A Nawawi) on the inside.
Approaching the 1000M, SILVER MAN rolled inwards, causing SEMIFREDDO and FRASER (Y Aify) to be taken inwards. FRASER was crowded between SEMIFREDDO and NOVA GENERAL (App KC Wong) and, as a result, SEMIFREDDO lost its position. The Stewards showed Jockey S Ruzaini, the rider of SILVER MAN, the vision of this incident and warned him to show greater awareness of runners on his inside under similar circumstances in future.
ELEGANT DANCER (App AM Aizat) raced wide from the 600M. When questioned, App AM Aizat stated that he was concerned about crossing CONFOUND when insufficiently clear and had therefore opted to remain wide.
Approaching the 300M, SEMIFREDDO was briefly disappointed for a run on the heels of CONFOUND and was thereafter switched to the inside.
Inside the 100M, D’GREAT ELEGANCE laid inwards under pressure and had to be switched abruptly outwards to avoid the heels of CRESCENDO (S Ipek) in the closing stages.

Race 6 (R409) 4 YEARS OLD ONLY – 1400M (SHORT COURSE A)
CLUB DE GREAT CUP

D’GREAT EFFORT (App AM Aizat) jumped outwards and brushed CROWN STAR (Lou Ho).
BIG PARIS (HS Gill) laid inward shortly after the jump, taking GOD HELPS ME (App CK Khaw) and SNOW DANCER (F Yap) inwards and causing SNOW DANCER to be crowded between GOD HELPS ME and CROWN STAR.
Approaching the 1300M, BIG PARIS was crowded by D’GREAT TIMING (App KC Wong) which laid inwards.
At about the 1200M, BLACK THORN (M Ganeesh) shied away from STAR INVINCIBLE (M Zairi) on his inside and shifted abruptly outwards, taking GOD HELPS ME and BIG PARIS outwards in response.
From the 400M, BLACK THORN commenced to lay in under pressure causing the rider to check and straighten him on several occasions and, at about the 100M, brushed with D’GREAT TIMING (App KC Wong) and caused D’GREAT TIMING to be taken inwards when just barely clear of CROWN STAR.
In the last 100M, BLACK THORN rolled in and bumped D’GREAT TIMING twice despite the rider’s best efforts.
MR WOLFF (App W Faizal) laid outwards under pressure in the last 200M and finished wide out.
In the last strides, GASSUR (S Ruzaini) was tightened for room when making progress between STAR INVINCIBLE and D’GREAT EFFORT (App AM Aizat) causing Jockey S Ruzaini to ease as a precautionary measure.
BIG PARIS which was beaten 25½ lengths, will be required to pass a 1000M/Vet test before being declared to race again for having a poor performance.

Race 7 (R410) MAIDEN - 1400M (SHORT COURSE A)
Trainer F Maynard was fined RM250/- under MRA Rule 109(1) for failing to present COLD WAR (Y Aify) at the pre-race holding are within the prescribed time.
D’GREAT MAGIC (App KC Wong) brushed with COLD WAR on jumping, became unbalanced and laid inwards, bumping MAJOR IMPROVEMENT (S Ipek). MAJOR IMPROVEMENT in turn became unbalanced and rolled inwards causing MEIZU (HS Gill) to be crowded to the outside of KING OPERA (S Ruzaini). KING OPERA was taken slightly inwards and bumped GALLOPY SWIFT (App AK Lim).
At about the 1000M, SHARON’S STAR (I Saifudin) rolled in approaching the bend and HOFFMAN (J De Souza) was forced to ease and correct.
Approaching the 200M, MUSANG KING (S Sandana) laid inwards under pressure causing HOFFMAN to switch outwards in order to avoid his heels and to obtain clear running.
HK DOLLAR (M Ganeesh) led for most of the race but then ran wide entering the straight and kept at one pace with the rider appearing to ride him out only intermittently. When questioned, Jockey M Ganeesh reported to the Stewards that his saddle slipped sideways at the jump and that he found himself unbalanced with limited control of the horse thereafter. He added that HK DOLLAR tended to lay outwards and that he was forced to check and correct that on several occasions in the straight as other horses began to pass him.
He further stated that in the last 100M, he felt that he had sufficient space to ride the horse out with his full vigour, but when he did so HK DOLLAR commenced to lay sharply outwards and he was again forced to check and correct to avoid bumping MEIZU on his outside.

TAKEAIM (C Goon) was slow to find its stride.
SRIKANDI (TK Barnabas) jumped slightly outwards and brushed with ASHQAR (S Ruzaini).
GOLDEN DRAGON (Lou Ho) raced wide throughout the race.
Approaching the 400M, JUST DUIT (Z Khairil) was forced to check and switch outwards to avoid the heels of GOLDEN DRAGON and to obtain clear running.

Race 9 (R412) CLASS 4 – 1200M (SHORT COURSE A)
Trainer SY Lim was fined RM250/- under MRA Rule 109(1) for failing to present TILWORTH MALI (M Ganeesh) at the pre-race holding are within the prescribed time.
ARIEL (Lou Ho) jumped outwards.
BUKIT SUBANG (App CK Khaw) jumped inwards causing LA FAMILIA (S Ruzaini) and GERMANIC (HS Gill) to be crowded between BUKIT SUBANG and TAUBOSS (App AM Aizat).
HIGH TROJA (J Mallyon) and ZIPPY GENERAL (SU Lim) were both slow to begin.
ZIPPY GENERAL was forced to race wide between the start and the 800M.
LA FAMILIA was observed to be racing keenly between the start and the 800M.
At about the 200M, GERMANIC laid outwards under pressure, forcing the rider to ease and correct at about the 150M in order to avoid contact with SO ON (HK Cheng).
An inquiry into the running and handling of ARIEL (Lou Ho) will be held at a date to be fixed.
A post-race veterinary examination of HIGH TROJA revealed that the gelding bled and will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3), and thereafter will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

Race 10 (R413) CLASS 4 – 1200M (SHORT COURSE A)
SWEEPING CHANCE (SU Lim) attempted to break through the gates, reared violently as the barrier opened and dislodged its rider. After reviewing the vision of the incident, the Stewards deemed the gelding as a runner as Jockey SU Lim was mounted at the time the start was effected. SWEEPING CHANCE will be required to pass 2 tests (1000M/Vet from the starting stall tests at consecutive weekly intervals) before being declared to race again.
D’GREAT ERA (App KC Wong) jumped inwards causing KUTTNER (F Yap) to be crowded on the outside of VICTORY CAT (Lou Ho).
NOVA POWER (App N Varmah) jumped awkwardly and was slow to find its stride.
Approaching the 900M, GAZOO (TK Barnabas) rolled inwards causing VICTORY CAT to be crowded on his inside and awkwardly placed on the heels of D’GREAT ERA. TRUMPS UP (App W Faizal) was forced to check to avoid the heels of VICTORY CAT.
NOVA POWER raced wide from the 600M.
At about the 250M, TRUMPS UP (App W Faizal) shifted inwards under pressure when insufficiently clear of LEE BANK (Y Aify) which was carried inwards, causing KUTTNER to be crowded on the inside of LEE BANK and SMOOTHLY (App AK Lim) to be tightened against the inside rail. The Stewards adjourned an inquiry into this incident to a date to be fixed.
ORION (App CK Khaw) was forced to switch abruptly outwards when making progress in the last 100M to avoid the heels of FOUVIERE (App S Saddam).

Race 11 (R414) CLASS 5 – 1200M (SHORT COURSE A)
DRAGON WALK (App L De Souza) jumped slightly outwards and brushed BULL AND BEAR (SS Vanan).
SPARKLER (App CK Khaw) jumped inwards causing SPECIAL LUCK (J Mallyon) to be awkwardly placed on his heels.
CIVIL UNION (A Nawawi) jumped inwards causing GERMAN SPEED (HS Gill) to be crowded between CIVIL UNION and BULL AND BEAR.
Approaching the 500M, GERMAN SPEED was observed to be racing ungenerously with a high head carriage and to be laying outwards.
At about the 400M, GERMAN SPEED laid outwards and was awkwardly placed turning into the straight. Thereafter GERMAN SPEED continued to lay outwards under pressure until the last 200M.
When questioned, Jockey HS Gill reported that GERMAN SPEED has a light mouth and tendency to shy away from other horses. He added that the horse also displayed similar racing manners in Barrier Trials.
ARLO (S Ruzaini) laid outwards under pressure in the last 200M and finished wide.
