RACE 1 (R829) CLASS 4(A) – 1600m (lc) COASTAL TAIPAN HANDICAP
WATER MOUNTAIN, MAESTRO, EMIRATES WARRIOR and HONEY BOWL, all are course scratching. WATER MOUNTAIN had sustained bruised both fore fetlocks. MAESTRO had sustained sole bruised off hind. EMIRATES WARRIOR had sustained tendonitis on off fore while HONEY BOWL has sustained right eye pinpoint ulceration. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
At approximately the 1400M-mark, DISCRETELY RED (S Saddam) had difficulty negotiating the turn, rolled outwards, carrying GEORGETOWN (App A Najib) outwards onto LAGO DE COMO (App AR Aiman), which in turn carried TRAFALGAR (HS Gill) wide.
Post-race veterinary examinations of AIR BOSS (Y Aify) and QIJI DIAMOND (F Yap) revealed no obvious abnormality.
At the conclusion of an Inquiry, App A Najib, the rider of GEORGETOWN, in the presence of his acting trainer, Trainer K Coetzee, pleaded guilty to a charge for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards under MRA Rule 44(10) in that, whilst riding GEORGETOWN which was laying in from about the 450M-mark till the winning post, he over-corrected resulting in him failing to ride with sufficient vigour and determination.
In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration App A Najib’s guilty plea, riding record and mitigating factors. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) months effective Monday, 11th July 2022 and to expire on Monday, 10th October 2022, both days inclusive. He was informed of his right of appeal (7.10pm).

RACE 2 (R830) CLASS 5 (A) – 1400m (lc) BANDED CRATE HANDICAP
SUPREME JUSTICE and MODRIC both are course scratching. SUPREME JUSTICE had sustained bruised near fore cannon while MODRIC had sustained bruised heel off fore. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Trainer S Deva Raj was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to declare the use of pacifiers on VEGAS SHOWGIRL (App AR Aiman) within the stipulated time.
INTROIT (AM Aizat) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
SUNNY STAR (S Saddam) which stood, losing considerable ground, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.
CHIEF CLERK (L De Souza) and IAMBUTTER (Y Aify) both came together shortly after the start.
SUNNY STAR and SAGE (S Salee) brushed between the 450M to 400M-mark.
VEGAS SHOWGIRL which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
Post-race veterinary examinations of SUNNY STAR revealed no obvious abnormality and CHIEF CLERK returned with respiratory distress. CHIEF CLERK will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that SAGE returned lame off fore and as such, the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
At the conclusion of an Inquiry, Jockey S Saddam, the rider of SUNNY STAR was found guilty to a charge for incompetent riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(b)(iii) in that he failed to give SUNNY STAR sufficient rein on jumping, resulting in the gelding being considerably slow to begin.
In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration Jockey S Saddam’s riding record and mitigating factors. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) months, effective Monday, 11th July 2022 and to expire on Monday, 10th October 2022, both days inclusive. He was informed of his right of appeal (6.15pm).

RACE 3 (R831) CLASS 5 (A) – 1400m (lc) BOOMSLANG HANDICAP
CODIGOS, a course scratching as it had suffered from tied up, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Jockey F Yap was fined the sum of RM500/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) as read with MRA Rule 107(10) when he was unable to make the carded weight on BUTCH CASSIDY. The Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey AM Aizat to replace him.
MIEJ (AK Lim) was slow into stride.
MIEJ was baulked for a run at approximately the 250M-mark and switched in for a clear run.
App R Nuqman, the rider of PONTIANAK reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of PONTIANAK revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 4 (R832) OPEN MAIDEN {WFA} -1100m (sc) KING STAKES
RIDE A WHITE HORSE, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised off fore cannon, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
QADIRA MEDINA (App A Azizi) was slow into stride.
Passing the 600M-mark, SIMLONG BEACH (KP Lim) which was laying in, rolled inwards, inconveniencing I AM DRAGON (App R Nuqman).
At approximately the 300M-mark, SKY DRAGON (S Salee) was inconvenienced when racing tight between POWERFUL DRAGON (App AR Aiman) and I AM DRAGON.
Post-race veterinary examinations of SKY DRAGON revealed no obvious abnormality and I AM DRAGON returned with mild whip marks on its right flank/rump.

RACE 6 (R834) CLASS 5 (A) – 1200m (sc) SAWACALE VIPER HANDICAP
SUNTZU, a course scratching as it had sustained sore back, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Acting on a report from the Veterinary Surgeon that BALL AND CHAIN (HS Gill) was lame off fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 4.48pm. BALL AND CHAIN will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
RAINBOW FISH (L De Souza) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
Gate No.7 was faulty and as a result, the Starter moved RAINBOW FISH and RANT AND RAVE (App SN Shiva) out one barrier respectively.
HOUSEHOLD DYNASTY (S Saddam) jumped awkwardly outwards and was slow into stride.
RAINBOW FISH jumped awkwardly and brushed the inside gate on jumping.
Jockey SU Lim reported that FUNKADELIC was disappointing and took no interest in the race. A post-race veterinary examination was requested which revealed no obvious abnormality.
A post-race veterinary examination of EASY SOUTH EAST (AK Lim) revealed that the gelding had returned lame off fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
