RACE 1 (R896) CLASS 5(B) – 1700M
Trainer W Lim was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to declare the use of blinkers on MIEJ (AK Lim) within the stipulated time.
As there was no suitable jockey available, the Stewards permitted App SN Shiva to replace Jockey S Zulfikri as the rider of OVERSEER when the latter failed to arrive on course within the prescribed time as he was delayed due to heavy traffic. Jockey S Zulfikri was advised that in future, he is to make adequate arrangement to arrive at the Turf Club on time, failing which he may be penalized.
Approaching the crossing at the 1600M-mark, CAPE LINCOLN (S Ruzaini) rolled inwards slightly, carrying JEFFREY (App M Ruvanesh) inwards, resulting in FIRST PASSTHEPOST (L De Souza) becoming crowded and having to steady. Jockey S Ruzaini was shown the video of the incident and warned to exercise more care in future.
Approaching the 600M-mark, SILVER SIXTYSIX (Y Aify) commenced to give ground and then at approximately the 400M-mark, became unbalanced and checked on the inside of CLOUD SHADOW (S Salee).
Post-race veterinary examinations of SILVER SIXTYSIX and JEFFREY revealed no obvious abnormality. JEFFREY was impounded for further veterinary and analytical examination.

RACE 2 (R897) CLASS 5(B) - 1200M
WINTERFELL, a course scratching as it had respiratory infection, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
BEAUTY THIRTYNINE (App SN Shiva) jumped awkwardly outwards, bumping D’GREAT VULTURE (AK Lim).
DARCI SUPER (App M Ekdihar) jumped awkwardly.
PARISBAS (App R Nuqman) was slow into stride.
App M Ruvanesh, the rider of MAKE U FAMOUS dropped his whip at approximately the 400M-mark. The Stewards took into consideration his relatively inexperience and as such, warned him that a repetition may lead to action being taken against him.
The saddle on MAKE U FAMOUS (App M Ruvanesh) slipped back in the running.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that HELLO MONDAY (HS Gill) and PARISBAS both returned, having cast their off fore plate and near hind plate respectively.
App M Ruvanesh (MAKE U FAMOUS), in the presence of his Employing Trainer, Trainer HS Lim, was shown the video of his ride in the early stages of the race and was warned that he must ensure that he is clear of other runners before shifting ground in future.
Trainer S Hamilton was questioned with regards to the improved performance of HANGRY today as compared to its run on 23rd July 2022. She explained that the going on 23rd July 2022 was “Good” and was not suited to this gelding. Her explanation was noted.

RACE 3 (R898) CLASS 4(B) – 1100M
HORSEH which was down 18kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that YOGI (App M Ruvanesh) bled and will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.
A post-race veterinary examination of HORSEH (App R Nuqman) revealed no obvious abnormality.
App M Ruvanesh, the rider of YOGI, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, Trainer HS Lim, was shown the video of his ride in the straight and was warned with regards to using his whip in an excessive manner.

RACE 5 (R900) RAPID STAKES A(SW) – 1300M
MORNINGTON RACECOURSE TRPHY
(ONLY APPRENTICE ALLOWANCE PERMITTED)
GRAND CROSS (HS Gill) jumped awkwardly, brushing the outside gate.
GOLD SKY BILLION (KC Tham) was slow into stride.
RESOLUTE (S Ruzaini) was baulked for a run at approximately the 250M-mark.
A post-race veterinary examination of KERAUNO (App S Sia) revealed no obvious abnormality.
Trainer HS Lim, when questioned with regards to the improved performance of AHTIMS KLIS
(AK Lim), was unable to offer any tangible explanation. His attention was drawn to the rules regarding “in- and-out” running (MRA Rule 117(3)) and he was further warned that should this horse prove to be inconsistent in the future, it may be suspended.

RACE 6 (R901) CLASS 4(B) - 1400M
BANGKOK BOY which was up 20kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
LAGO DE COMO (App AR Aiman) raced wide into the home turn, raced wide into the straight, finishing the race extremely wide.
Approaching the 1100M-mark, HONEY BOWL (AK Lim) was crowded and had to steady as a result of LAGO DE COMO which was laying out and shifting out.
Jockey AM Aizat, the rider of SEVEN SUNDAE, reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of SEVEN SUNDAE revealed no obvious abnormality.
App Clyde Leck who rode his 40th winner on DRAGON RYKER in this race, would only be entitled to claim 2kg allowance as from Monday, 1st August 2022.

RACE 7 (R902) CLASS 5(B) – 1400M
HAPPY LUCKY STAR and MAPLE RISING are both course scratching. HAPPY LUCKY STAR had fever and MAPLE RISIING had sustained a stone bruise off fore. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
MYSTICAL STAR (S Ruzaini) was slow into stride.
Passing the 1300M-mark, D’GREAT MAGIC (AK Lim) became crowded and had to check when TRAVIS (App AR Aiman) rolled outwards.
Approaching the 1100M-mark, DAWNBREAKER (App R Nuqman) was crowded and had to steady.
RAISE ME UP (S Salee) had a tendency to lay in at the top of the straight.
App AR Aiman, the rider of TRAVIS and Jockey HS Gill, the rider of POWER EXRESS, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of
TRAVIS and POWER EXPRESS revealed no obvious abnormality.
An Inquiry into the running and handling of TRAVIS will be held tomorrow, 31st July 2022.
