(App A Nazir) Inclined to lay inwards early in the straight and had to be steadied when taken across the heels of runner near the 200M. *(See Report).

9 WINNER NUMBER ONE
(App M Ekdihar) Rider reported the gelding stumbled on several occasions mid-race. Vet inspection: Respiratory Distress - 1000M/vet (1 month embargo)
On inquiry, Jockey S Salee, the rider of STARDICE, pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards in terms of the veracity of his whip use. In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey S Salee’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period two (2) months with effect from 10 April 2023 and to expire on 9 June 2023, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
The Stewards inquired into App A Nazir’s riding of GAIN ECLIPSE and after considering the evidence, they believed they could not substantiate a charge under the Rules, given he had to restrain prophylactically near the 200M. App A Nazir was warned that he must ensure that he rides all mounts so as to be fully tested.

RACE 3 (R396) CLASS 4b – 1200M (C4 sc)
Due to regional rescheduling, this race was rescheduled to start at 1:50pm.

(App KH Chong) Bumped on jumping, becoming unbalanced.
2 FANTASTIC ECLIPSE
(App A Nazir) Veered inwards at the start, crowding runner. *(See Report).
3 JIMMY ZAC
(S Salee) Had to be straightened when laying inwards at the 150M. *(See Report).
6 DEPENDABLE
(HK Cheng) Crowded at the start and was subsequently ridden rearward and then raced wide from the 1000M.
7 HELLO BOSS
(App I Fikri) Had to be steadied when blocked near the 200M.
9 KHAN PEGASUS
(Y Aify) Held tight passing the 1000M.
10 TURF PRINCESS
(M Ewe) Raced with its head in the air for some distance in the early stages.
On inquiry, App A Nazir, the rider of FANTASTIC ECLIPSE (placed fifth), in the presence of his Employing Trainer, F Maynard, pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(6) in that he failed to ride his horse out to the end of the race.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App A Nazir’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) Malaysian race days with effect from 10 April 2023 and to expire on 22 April 2023, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
On inquiry, Jockey S Salee, the rider of JIMMY ZAC, pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards related to the veracity of his whip use.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey S Salee’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period two (2) months, to be served accumulatively with any other suspension, with effect from 10 June 2023 and to expire on 9 August 2023, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

(L De Souza) Hind-quarters bumped heavily near the 650M, becoming unbalanced.

(Y Aify) Had to be taken outwards to avoid the heels of runner near the 650M, thereby striking the hind-quarters on the outside and steadied.

Jockey CK Khaw who rode his 151st winner on DAN IMPACT in this race, would not be entitled to claim any allowance as from Monday, 10 April 2023.

(M Ewe) Struck the inside gate on jumping and was crowded, losing its position.

(S Salee) Crowded and had to be restrained near the 1100M and then raced fiercely. *(See Report).

(V Espindola) Shifted in crowding several runners. *(See Report).
8 AUSSIE EAGLE
(App S Shazmin) Tightened near the 1100M and then raced fiercely.
9 CRAYON SHIN-TAT
(Y Aify) Steadied when crossed near the 1100M. Eased outwards to avoid runner at the 400M. Rider dropped whip when struck by clod of dirt.
On inquiry, Jockey V Espindola, the rider of EL MACHO, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he shifted in, thereby crossing CRAYON SHIN-TAT which shifted in, crowding ICHIKA BACHIKA which in turn tightened AUSSIE EAGLE with both horses being restrained.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey V Espindola’s guilty plea and good riding record. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 10 April 2023 and to expire on 16 April 2023, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
