RACE 1 (R1046) CLASS 5(A) – 1400m (lc) KERIAN RIVER HANDICAP
LAST CHANCE, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised off fore sole, will required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
The Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey HS Gill to replace Jockey Y Aify as the rider of SHANGHAI CAPTAIN when the latter was certified unwell.
PRATT STREET (F Yap) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start
JULIUS CAESAR (L De Souza) jumped awkwardly and was then inconvenienced when IPOH DASH (App S Hafis) jumped outwards.
Jockey KC Tham, the rider of ROCK N ROLL reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of ROCK N ROLL revealed no obvious abnormality.
A post-race veterinary examination of FIRE AWAY (SU Lim) revealed no obvious abnormality.
Trainer Evert van Breukelen was questioned with regards to the tactics used on IPOH DASH today. He was warned that should there be a change of tactics, he should inform the Stewards in future. Furthermore, he was advised that IPOH DASH would be expected to race in similar manner in future.

RACE 3 (R1048) OPEN MAIDEN (WFA) – 1200m (lc) BIDOR RIVER STAKES
I AM KHAN which was up 18kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
HEARTS OF GOLD (AM Aizat) was slow into stride.
I AM KHAN (App A Azizi) and SHARP DRESSED MAN (HS Gill) brushed on jumping.
At approximately the 300M-mark, MISS THYRA (F Yap) became crowded and had to steady, as a result of LION KING (SU Lim) which was laying out and shifted out. Jockey SU Lim was shown the video of the incident and was warned to make greater effort to keep his mount on a straight course in future.
RIDE A WHITE HORSE (App SN Shiva) was hanging out in the straight.
Jockey AK Lim, the rider of ALESSIA BEAUTY reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of ALESSIA BEAUTY which raced poorly, revealed no obvious abnormality and will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
A post-race veterinary examination of HEARTS OF GOLD revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 4 (R1049) CLASS 4 (A) -1000m (sc) PERAK RIVER HANDICAP
FIRST COMMAND (HS Gill) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start
TRINITY GRACE (SU LIM) which could not be ridden to the start, was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 3.17pm. The gelding will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test [to be ridden unaided to the start] before being declared to race again.
FA FA STAR (AK Lim) and FIRST COMMAND brushed on jumping.
DESIRE SKY (SS Vanan) jumped awkwardly and shortly thereafter, was inconvenienced by GIFTED (KC Tham) which rolled inwards.
Jockey AM Aizat, the rider of D’GREAT JOURNEY was shown the video of his ride in the straight and was warned against the practice of using his whip forward of his horse’s shoulder. The Panel of Stewards acknowledged that this was his first offence and as such, he was warned.
Jockey HS Gill, the rider of FIRST COMMAND was warned against the practice of the use of his whip on his mount when the horse is clearly out of contention.
Jockey HS Gill reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of FIRST COMMAND which raced poorly, revealed no obvious abnormality. The gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

RACE 5 (R1050) CLASS 5 (A) – 1100m (sc) BERNAM RIVER HANDICAP
FAST AND SUPER (App S Hafis) jumped awkwardly outwards, inconveniencing ASPEN (WK Yan).
D’GREAT STRIKE (SU Lim) was hanging in in the straight.
CROWN STAR (HS Gill) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
Jockey HS Gill and App WW Cheah, the rider of CROWN STAR and WINNER NUMBER ONE, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of CROWN STAR and WINNER NUMBER ONE revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 6 (R1051) CLASS 5 (A) – 1800m (sc) DINDING RIVER HANDICAP
DREAMS CAN BE REAL which was down 16kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
As there was no suitable rider available, the Panel of Stewards permitted App SN Shiva to replace Jockey F Yap as the rider of MAZANZE.
A post-race veterinary examination of MAGICAL PARK (App S Hafis) revealed no obvious abnormality.
At the conclusion of an Inquiry into the running and handling of MAGICAL PARK today, App S Hafis in the presence of his acting master, Trainer S Cook, pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards.
The particulars of the charge are:
1) He failed to make sufficient efforts to place his mount in a midfield position as instructed.
When deciding on a penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration App S Hafis’s guilty plea, riding records and mitigating factors. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of six (6) months, effective from Monday, 5th September 2022 and to expire on Saturday, 4th March 2023, both dates inclusive. In addition, he was fined the sum of RM10,000/- He was advised of his right of appeal (5.20pm).
