On inquiry, App M Ekdihar, the rider of SPIN FIRE, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, Mr SY Lim pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he shifted in at the 800M, crowding GOOD WARRIOR causing that horse to dip and lose ground.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App M Ekdihar’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days, to be deferred, with effect from 4 July 2022 and to expire on 10 July 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

On inquiry, App S Sia, the rider of MISE ON GARDE, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, Mr R Lines, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he shifted in approaching the 800M, tightening WINNER NUMBER ONE causing that gelding to be restrained with AUSSIE EAGLE which was following, to be inconvenienced.

(App R Nuqman) When questioned, rider stated that he had intended to ride in a forward position, however, had been crowded and eventually was in a rearward position. From this stage, the gelding failed to respond and finished last. Vet inspection: Lame near fore – Vet exam (3 weeks embargo)
2 BLOOD ROYAL
(L De Souza) Crowded near the 100M.
4 GOOD FIGHT
(R Rueven) Reared prior to the start and jumped awkwardly, unbalancing rider, thereby losing ground. Raced wide throughout. Trainer fined RM250/- for failing to declare cross-nose band.

(App S Shazmin) Drifted out shortly after the start. Rider reprimanded.
7 SHINE SHINE
(MM Firdaus) Jumped awkwardly and lost ground, then raced wide, taking the turn into the straight extremely wide. Rider stood down by Club Doctor from his riding engagement for his remainder rides.

11 IAMBUTTER
(Y Aify) Had to steady shortly after the start when LEO drifted out. Brushed the running rail several strides on straightening. Blocked for clear running near the 250M and when taken out passing the 175M, was inclined to lay inwards, crowding runner.

(R Rueven) Raced wide when outside the leader in the mid stages.

(S Ruzaini) Inclined to lay outwards and travelled wide throughout.

(Y Aify) After being slow to begin, clipped the heels when crossing behind STRAP MARKS.

(App A Suriya) Saddle slipped backwards marginally at the start. Taken out in the straight.

Objections were lodged by Jockey HS Gill (WHITE HOOF BIRD), placed third, against BLACK THORN (R Rueven), being declared the winner and ARC TRIUMPH (J Shankar), placed second, alleging interference over the final 100M. The Panel of Stewards dismissed the objections.
