The weekend will see Selangor Turf Club completing its Da Ma Cai Malaysia 3-Year-Old Championship heats with the remaining two heats being run on Saturday, 29th and Sunday, 30th September 2007 respectively.

The home based trainers in Kuala Lumpur has been working very hard to secure a place for their charge to compete in the Finals at the Sungei Besi race course on November 4, 2007. To-date, out of the nine heats, the Championship have successfully conducted five heats and selected seven horses to the finals. They are Jazzmint Delight, Hot Ego, Speedy Wind, Easy Speed and Happy Victory from Ipoh and Yharo and Mighty Triple Ace from Penang and Selangor respectively.

Leading the pack of eight runners on this Saturday, September 29 at the Selangor Turf Club Heat 2 is Jun Jin and Pak Sing Tan with the highest handicap of 49 points and 39 points respectively. Whereas, in the Heat 3 challenge on Sunday, September 30, Ishbiliya looks promising compared with the other seven rivals. Ishbiliya won its one and only start last month and is looking set the capture Heat 3 with rating of 52 points.

Each home based heat offers prize money of RM75,000 and the winner of each heat will automatically qualify for the RM250,000 Championship Final. Two second-placed horses will also get a place in the final while the third-placed horse will qualify as the emergency acceptor. In total, there will be five horses qualifying for the final from each turf club. The weekend will see Selangor Turf Club announcing its five selected runners to the finals.

The final comprising of 15 qualifiers will be held at the Selangor Turf Club. Each of the qualifying horse owner will receive a RM10,000 Appearance Fee.

Racing fans attending races at Selangor Turf Club on this weekend will also stand a chance to win Championship merchandise through the Scratch and Win contest that is organized in conjunction with the Da Ma Cai Malaysia 3-Year-Old Championship.
